Yesterday i swapped our wireless network about a bit. Basically my pc upstairs is the main pc and the downstairs pc is hardly used, but it was hooked up directly to the router. It got 10mb line while my network card/signal would only get 2 meg. So yesterday i extended the phone cable upstairs...
if you aint going to halfords, just goto a local paint supplier and take your petrol cap, you dont even need the colour code, they will mix it to match the car as even with the same colour code, shades on cars vary.
just go round some local bodyshops, ask to see some of the work/paintwork theyve done and if its good enough for you get a quote, then goto another bodyshop, tell them the last quote you had. people have different experiences with bodyshops, best to just go and have a look.

only thing i can think of is possibly how far away the pc is. The main pc is downstairs and my pc is upstairs in the bedroom, plus we live in an old house so we have solid brick walls, gonna bugger up the signal even more i guess.
ive got a belkin and tbh it does the job, although my 10 meg line is capped to 2 meg over the wireless.
have you got the aerials pointing the right way as they work side to side not up and down, makes ALOT of difference to signal just moving ever so slightly
goto a local spares shop or ebay and ask for Sikaflex. you'll need a mastic gun too and a roll of masking tape (to secure it in place)

the black tube from the original filter just sits pointing at the new cone, or in my case it goes in the bin.
also, did you get the right screw fitment? as theres 2 screw fitment and 3 screw fitment.
