I'll strip the wipers and scuttle covers off and see if any of the white scuttle clips are knackered as it's not sitting flat to the screen which annoys me. Cheers for the help mate
Just been researching my high 1300-1500 idle and slow to drop revs and from what I've read that could also be cts.
Are these two issues, the fan being on and high idle/slow dropping revs be related?
I've been trying to find a few replacement clips but as some are missing I'm unsure what Im looking for.
I want the scuttle cover clips that go into the to wings for the scuttle to push down onto and the turn screw ones that hold the s. cover to the bulk head. I'm also looking for the grille...
As in the title really, my radiator fan comes on on start up and runs permanently, what might be causing this, the fuse box seems to have quite a few more empty slots than my 182 ever did.
Clutch is fine, cam belt and water pump due in two years so the aux is due now really but I will attempt that myself.
Really is the peeling lacquer on the bump strips and chips and door dents. Then bits that just make it look ugly like corroded wiper arms.
Yeah pretty much that mate, I think the engine is pretty sound I will possibly do a compression test and plug my ebay diagnostics reader in to it see how that comes back. Other than that it really is just cosmetics so I might just take my contacts out when I go near it?
It did and I knew it, I hpi'd it which came back clear just kicking myself for not looking it over better. I've raised the issues with the guy who is a Mechanic at a place ironically called Motofix in Aberdare, he offered to look at it but the hassle of taking it back over to Wales to leave then...
The air filter to slam panel bracket and the radiator is levitating and the fuel rail guard has gone AWOL too. The bonnet catch isnt catching only the release hook so it's liable to fly open.
It just looks like some ones taken it to pieces and lost half of it putting it back together. I'm also...
Yeah flame red ph2, it's not great to be honest at the moment, I have to admit it is a big mistake by me but I think I will have to make the best of it. Few bits needed to make looking at it on a dry day bearable!
What do they say about buying a car on a wet day?
I've bought this car HF02 XAM, it's got some funny goings on under the bonnet, like brackets missing odd routing of cables etc so I'm trying to do a bit of background research on it.
Does anyone know it or know of any previous owners?
New 172 and now all the problems are coming out of the woodwork, neither of my wing mirrors are moving would i be right in thinking it would possibly suggest the control is dead or a loose connection?
Also heater blower only has one speed which searching on here looms like the resistor at...
I've just bought a flame red 172 after a bit of searching, it's not the tidiest example I'm sure but it will keep me entertained bringing it back up to scratch.
It has cliosport stickers so I'm guessing a previous owner may still be on here or some one may know this car?
Yes that's what I was thinking, thankfully it's pretty close by compared to most I've seen so a wasted journey isn't such a loss.
Im not prepared to go over £1400 really to leave a bit for inevitable costs and I really shouldn't be adding to my vehicles, can only use one at a time after all.
So I think I've found a 172 in flame red that I'm going to view tomorrow, what do you think I could try getting it for as it's up for £1600?
Totally standard

Yeah I did consider that it could easily be written off by something as small as a rear bumper but as has also been said cat c surely means something more serious.
Either way he lied to me and on that principle I asked for my money back.
