    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

The answer is not always to look at a different system or higher cut - the first question would be as Dave and I were chatting about, i.e. your process/technique. How quickly are you moving the machine across the area? What size of area do you mask off and cover? How many passes? Once we get to...

    Normal Wax v's Wheel Wax?

C5 if you're willing to prep properly (and by properly, I mean PROPERLY). Mint Rims from James@AF above, Poorboys Wheel Sealant is very good, as is FK1000p.

    Advice for a n00b.

It won't last as long, but it's a good use for it, as it's a relatively inexpensive wax.

    Advice for a n00b.

Cleaners remove dirt from the paintwork, so technically, something like Prime could be used before and after polishing to remove grime. It's an extra step that includes a chemical cleaner, rather than something abrasive. Re wax, I would look at second hand pots of Zymol Carbon, or push the...

There is no right and wrong in detailing as it's all person experiences, budgets, time to spare etc... but if I may, John; Quick declaration that this is purely "in my opinion" from a few years in the detailing circles :) And if you'd like links/further info, shout :)

    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

Mis-read the last part of your post - talking to Kev about Amigo, I ended up not plugging in the PC7424 and applying it on 900 (speed 1) with the Silverline rote. It's a very heavy machine, but actually found it easier than RMGlaze by 7424. Could be the glaze, could be that my arms were used to...

    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

Gally has said all those points have been covered by the 801 Dave. Worth having a look. The pro had more "bite" when I applied more pressure. This is going back a bit (f**k me, two to three years perhaps?!) but I had a test bonnet and tried the two at the same time as wet sanding. The pro was...

No more than SRP surely? Will it not just be the fillers creating a temporary mild hydrophobic surface?

    Normal Wax v's Wheel Wax?

It will just melt off, Joe. No chance it'll last until November, let alone through to New Year (unless its garbed and the wheels are not subjected to any movement/braking).

Btw, Harpananananom, that's not to say that I don't agree with Gally in that for your needs you should use a filler polish.

Not true - got decent results with 203s on a hand cut pad. I know I bang on about it whenever anyone asks, but it does work. Work checked by IPA wipe down as well.
