never heard of comma. i use titan fuchs 5w 40 for my 172 as this is what we sell at work. we sell it a work due to the germans using it from the production line = it must be good!

don't think it's a common fault but when a head gasket is replaced, most people change all the gaskets too - and the stem seals come in the head set.

GSF don't do them as they are genuine only parts. Renault or K-Tec is where to get them from.

not necessary to change it unless there's an obvious fault noticed when changing the belts. as said, rare for them to fail.

If a mounting is worn and then has been disturbed, would that make it more noticeable that there is a fault there then?

I know it's stupid. Before I ordered mine like 9 months ago I told them the design of the frame was incorrect - they sent me pics of the frame before I ordered - and they assured me the frame had been modified to fit properly, but sure enough turned up the same as before.

check the fuel rail guard at the front of the engine. it's held on by two nuts - possibly not done up tight enough?

meek - that picture shows the drivers seat outer lug which is meant to be for the harness eyebolt to attach on to. frame is great apart from the untidy welding and poor choice of location for that lug. Therefore in that postition it is unuseable. Numpties.
