I got this from someone at work earlier, basically saying someone was having issues sending us mail... now I'm not massively up on email stuff, but I thought some of you lot may well be....
All ideas welcomed.
Re: Ph1 Mini Service & Clean
TBH, I've never noticed anything wrong with them. They were an advisory on the MOT when I bought the car, 18m ago, and it's never shown any issues.
I'll just get some track rod ends then yesh??
So we'll do rod ends, new shaft, (it's actually new) and robert's your...
Re: Ph1 Mini Service & Clean
Dude, it's a new month. (I'm still brasic, but that's my own doing, try to demolish a BIG CC in a very short time).
I'll get hold of that driveshaft this week then, £50 for some poncey bushes??? Can you link me up to anywhere that sells what we're talking about...
Cheers mate, fronts will be 25mm then the back will be 5mm I think, maybe 8mm....
I have a feeling it'll make the front look 100x better, but we shall see :)
Re: Ph1 Mini Service & Clean
I've been wondering what I needed to change since picking up the car, lol!
Doesn't really seem to affect it TBH, but if they're cheap, I'll change them.
I may try and get most of it done this w.e tbh mate, only thing is I should change the track rod ends before...
Full custom build from scratch, by powerflow.
Was created to be as quiet as possible without affecting flow. My perfect exhaust.
LOL! My apologies amigo, but yeah, the lance is certainly useful.
Cheers Grayson.
I'll say it for the last time, when the tyres are through, the f1's will go on.
That's Mr Giraffe for you, pro with that lance now days..
Re: Ph1 Mini Service & Clean
Track rod ends I need doing mate... also need to fit ANOTHER passenger side shaft (kill me).
I should have it by the end of this week.. FFS.
Just looked and found the old MOT - "Slight play in steering rack bushes" WTF are those?
I scratched my lid this weekend taking it to ^^ that blokes house.
FFS.
I have a nice, smart Ted Baker case for it too, but I just slung it in a bag full of stuff and didn't worry.
Fudge.
Here's to hoping it dies a death in the next two years and I get a new one under applecare.
Re: Ph1 Mini Service & Clean
Cheers mate, track rod ends... why are these so hard to do? I always hear people talking about angle grinder etc?
I think mind need doing, they were on the MOT advisories when I bought the car, or at least something was...
This weekend saw a service and proper clean over at "Giraffe Motor's"
Oil and filter changed, air filter cleaned, two new balljoints.
Just need a new driveshaft (to hopefully stop my ticking) and then the tracking done.
Oh and to pick up the 25mm spacers I've had sitting waiting for me...
Re: Ph1 Mini Service & Clean
Cheers 'topher. I'm itching to get the f1's on though, I need things proper OEM+ (like yours :o)
Re: The wheel, do it! It's actually a rather cheap one, and the polyeutherane as opposed to leather feels great. 300mm is an absolute joy to drive with too!
Re: Ph1 Mini Service & Clean
Cv joints won't cause creaking, that's normally suspension related. I'll take a look when you come over to do balljoints. Peroni tokens sit fine with me lad. :)
So it did get cleaned then, right?
Re: Ph1 Mini Service & Clean
CV joints Luke?
If they're gone, it's new driveshafts really!!!
I can do the balljoints for you no problem though, feel free to pop over or whatever.
FFS!!
Poor motor, didn't you hit a bird on the way to CSS too? Is someone putting bird seed on your car? LOL
Re: Ph1 Mini Service & Clean
Find a breaker or sort bits separately! It's honestly not hard if you put your mind to it! Most random interior bits are impossible to sell so you can get them for peanuts!!!!
Just start collecting parts, then I'll answer all your questions as you go along :)...
Headlights look great (wish I could be bothered to do mine without a machine, but they're bad).
I also need to see Mick and get him to turn off all my airbag circuits! LOL
Sitting at a desk has no appeal to me, or many others I would assume. I work at a desk (when I'm there) all day.
Relaxing on the sofa/bed/big comfy chair with a laptop is a whole world apart from sat rigidly using a desktop.
Oh and 13" MBP is awesome if you're not worried about the screen :)
It's possible.
No where near as badly as fitting the coilovers, but slightly yes.
For me, get it to the height you like, drive it for a day or two to let it settle, then have the tracking done.
Yes, it's all down to tracking. Get it done somewhere ASAP, but make sure you're happy with the ride height first.
You can fit the wheel whenever you want, it won't affect tracking at all.
Have you got the spring sitting correctly in the "cup" at the top and bottom?
It's quite hard to get wrong.. take some pics if possible.
Top mounts sitting higher isn't the end of the world, but does say to me that something's not right.
Re: Ph1 Mini Service & Clean
I knew someone would notice, should have known it would have been you!!!
I have the ph2 item in a cupboard in the kitchen, just need to actually put it on!!!
You still going to ph2 dash yours?
Honestly, you're mental.
But thanks :)
