I was deliberately trying to flick the back end out, which you can see in the chicane before the straight. Hopefully it'll be sorted with the camber bolts :)
So here's a little update...
The silver Ignis had already done Bedford, Oulton and several runs at Curborough this year, so I decided to give it a go at Donington Park for my birthday. I decided not to opt for track tyres and being tight went for some Hankooks instead (which I later regretted!)...
What do you want to know? The next official day is on Boxing Day which you're all welcome to come and have a look. If you like what you see then you can join up for 2015
I think you're the most sensible eighteen year-old I've ever come across... So much so that I thought your avatar was actually you. It's nice to see though, even though you're applying all that attention to detail on a Vauxhall. Does look shiny though
I think I enjoy seeing someone tidying up a rough car more than reading how someone spent a fortune making their sporty car sportier. Fair play dude, fair play.
I sold mine years ago, and despite the remap and filter it was probably running more or less standard power. I fitted the coilovers and a rollcage and that was about it really.
If you've bought it to make it go faster then I'm afraid you've bought the wrong type of car. You're going to need mega money to make it significantly faster. They were built as great handling all-rounders, not dragstrip queens.
The 197 is already a good car straight out the factory, and any amount of money you spend on it is probably wasted. I recommend you book yourself a trackday and some driving tuition, and maybe you'll get an opportunity to get the most from your new purchase.
