True....insuring in your own name is the way to go.
Still can't believe people pay over a grand for insurance on 172/182s though...when I was in my early twenties I drove a crap, underpowered 1.4 escort lol
I've had no problams with my 02 172 (touch wood) and it's a very cheap car to run.
Brought outright - no finance
£350 a year to insure
40/45mpg on the motorway
Only problem is the 72k/5yr service coming up:(
7k:eek: That's a lot!
I modified my last car but just got bored of it.....there's always someone with more money and a 'better' car anyway so you end up chasing your tail and wasting money.
Quite happy to leave my 172 as it is:D
Would be much better getting a cone and securing that behind the foglight in the wheel arch area and using mesh over the foglight to let air through but to stop debris/stones.
Pretty different though
Apparently not well spaced though.
Never going to buy one anyway even though I do love the look of them...I'll just stick with the cheap a** 172 for now.
K&Ns are good along with Green and ITG
I've got a Green panel in my 172 which is pretty similar to the K&N....I chose it due to reccomendations from friends who run/tune Subarus and use them frequently without problems.
Also cheaper than ITG:D
