F**k 17s....with lowering springs it'll kill the ride/handling. Go for 16s with a sensible drop.

TBH if your current car is reliable and quick it's probably best hanging onto. I have also thought about upgrading to something newer as I own an 02 172 but decided not to as the car has been so good and is more than enough fun for me. Shame you don't likt the Trophy colour.....such a good...

Keep the 172..new doesn't always mean better

Get an original Renault oil filter from the stealers for under a tenner and get holdd of some 5/40w Silkolene Pro S. I ordered mine online from Opie oils www.opieoils.co.uk Not cheap but a proper synthetic oil:D

That does sound a bit suspect. I know RS developments had their evo engine flown to the USA for stroker work and to have the Crower rods fitted.

At the front below the fuel rail guard (the bit of metal that sticks out from the front of the engine). Easier to get off if you remove the guard...has two 10mm securing it in place which are easily removed with a socket set.

I had one of those and it barely lasted two weeks on the car as I didn't like the look of it at all.....heavy as well. Sounded very nice though

I did have to file the bolt holes for the rear hanger which bolts to the car so I coudl position it further back to stop knocking. I also think the centre to backbox joint could be a better design. Apart from that it seems like a good exhaust

I agree....I think the 197 is a great looking car. I'm not saying the VXR is going to be a chav car because it won't at that price but if I was going to spend that kind of money on a car that wouldn't be the one.
