Had a better look at it today - the back box is definitely at an angle so I'll give loosening the clamps and twisting it a go........ and if I break it I'll blame you lot :rasp:
Only on a limited mileage policy surely?
I rang them up yesterday and he said to bring it straight down and he would amend it - he insisted that it should definitely be corrected - so I nipped down, he rechecked the mileage and printed out a new certificate. Simple. And he was very...
Got my MOT today, but just noticed that they've put the mileage down as 62xxx instead of 42xxx!
Does this matter - do they enter this mileage onto the central computer system these days, and if so is this likely to cause me any problems in the future? :S
On the centre silencer box, the midline seam of it is level with the bottom of the floorpan. From behind crouching at valance-level you can see the bottom half of the back box and tailpipe.... :dapprove:
Still, it sounds good
Ah, you mean the oval clamp round the back box?
To be honest, I think the whole thing's an inch and a half too low at the moment, including the centre section. I never examined the old one first, but I'm sure the centre section and maybe even the (original) cat are lower than before. There's...
I know it should! It's the first thing I looked for when I got the keys back. IIRC there's something on the K-Tec website that says exactly that: if you can see it, it isn't fitted properly....
One hour's labour (£45) + VAT for fitting in the end
Peperami - dunno yet, I've only just driven 1.5m home from the garage in heavy traffic. Nice burble on idle though, but haven't had chance to extend it yet.
Only issue is, they haven't fitted it very stealth-like - it seems to be quite...
Yep :)
ordered my k-tec stealth online at lunchtime on Weds, it arrived at 10am Friday morning. Being fitted today at my local Renault indie specialist - will let you know how much it cost later.
I forgot to check the mounts until last thing last night too - my rear one is shagged. The...
Time to learn a lesson by the sounds of it. Overtaking at a junction? :nono:
As others have said, it really isn't going to make any sense attempting to repair it. Time to face facts and let it go.
Mine's not bad for a 5 year old car on firm suspension that spends most of its life on the potholed streets of a northern city........
But there is a rattle from the dash from the underside section above the cupholder cubbyhole. A quick tap always shuts it up for a while.
Occasionally the...
Ah well, too late - the discs had to be done in a rush this afternoon so standard replacements. £45 each.
I queried whether the shocks needed replacing as a pair and they assured me that it WASN'T necessary..... :S and this is a well-respected renault specialist in Leeds, well known on here. Hmmm.
"The couple, whose first child is due in January, are now looking for answers after they first received a letter from Renault in June inviting Clio owners to have bonnet catch mechanisms checked at local dealerships as a gesture of good will.
The Gallies did not take up the offer, but......"...
I got a letter recently from Renault on this, saying that their records showed I hadn't been in since their first letter (that's because I didn't own the car then...) which proves that they do at least keep following up cars. I haven't been in yet, but because I knew about the issue through...
