Yeah, some people said you can simply remove the canister, but in all honesty I wasn't interested in removing bits and leaving things unfinished.
I got a new one from Tom at Wests and fitted it one morning. Fixed it perfectly.
As said on previous pages, for the trip we did, budget somewhere around £800 p/p.
If you just went to the ring for a few days it would be less, if after Zurich you went onwards to Monaco, it would be more ect ect.
I fancy another one next year, but I wouldnt want to do a good portion of it again.
If I were to to do it again, I would have longer at the nurburgring, the entirety of Stuttgart would be cut out, and I would include Monaco/Northern Italy.
Budget wise, £800 min, but that would climb the longer...
Write up time. This won't be short, so grab a brew, I have highlighted our rough costs and included some links, for anyone interested in doing a roadtrip similar to ours.
Our trip started in Manchester, and after a few hours of boring motorways and a slight diversion past Coventry, we made it...
I have some pictures of it in my project thread, I would link you but I'm on my phone so I can't.
Ask to see a sample first, you want to be sure you're going to like it before he just starts spraying evrrything!
I have my upper grill done in Satin Black and I think it looks brilliant, really tidies up the front end, but retains a very OEM look.
Gloss is too shiney and will look a bit tacky as Dan said.
Mini update.
Took a total of 18 hours, Manchester - Nurburgring. We stopped for sleep midway through Belgium. We saw Spa Francorchamps (sp) from a viaduct on the way past, was pretty good!
Our laps of the ring were quite nerveracking, M3's literally sit an inch off your rear bumper...
Last post before we set off now, I pick Jon up in 38 mins, not that I'm counting ;)
Next time you hear from us, we'll probably be taking in the morning sea air on the ferry.
Laters :D
Reasonably busy day tomorrow, should pass the time nicely.
As said, this time tomorrow I expect to be just north of Birmingham.
It's going to be so good, and knowing what we're like we should see some great sights, even when we go down the road, somehow we see the most comical of things.
8 days pretty much.
The name stays. I want it without the '.' but Revels is gay and French and won't let me :(
Looks good that Jon, didn't expect it to be so small, pretty much carry it everywhere!
Both the Auto Technik and Merc museum look great, certainly fancy them!
Aye, he's used...
Seb, you know my feelings on this. Think my grin as we went up the slip road said more than a thousand words!
Properly impressive machine. Money very very well spent.
Enjoy it :)
Okay so the day is nearly upon myself and Jon, we leave for out trip round Europe this Friday.
We both wanted to do a trip like this a few years ago, but due to my work, we couldn't. Now we are both in the position to be able to do it properly!
We will be taking my Clio 182, mainly because...
I know. Revels won't let me have 'Eddie' because someone who hasn't posted a single post in 4 years, logs on every now and again is using the username I want.
