Hmmm, I've seen a fair few that have DOF?! Ive probably gotten myself mistaken then :(
Well yeah, maybe with that DOF removed it would look better? In terms of control points the only way I could think of doing it would be a number of layers for the backgrounds, each dropping down the amount of...
As I said in the tutorial, the effect is to replicate a rig shot, not replace, I can see the differences when I look at a real rig shot and mine, but I have no rig. and this was significantly faster than building one! Haha
Also I mentioned that if any experts want to add anything to the...
Looks great tbh, I know what you're saying, the background is important for realism, the reflections look very good and the background seems to blurred just the right amount.Great effort, a better setting and you'll be onto a winner!
Oh absolutely yeah! Once I get going on it, I can't stop, I love it now! It makes those really desirable shots a lot more accessible, and its made me enjoy my photography a lot more too! It really is so rewarding :)
Yeah you're right, I didn't have a guide, I did have YouTube though, for the...
My record? Time you mean? If so go for it, speed isn't important as I'm not doing it for a living ;)
Certainly have a go, its very rewarding and I love how the final image looks. Ive done a tutorial as well, see post #25.
YouTube mate, its very handy and there is a tutorial for nearly every single operation. Thoroughly recommend it!
As people have said, have a play, once you have picked up the basics, try something harder, practice it and move on again, keep testing yourself, and most importantly stick with it...
Providing you don't claim them to be not shopped, then you're cheating nobody!
PhotoShop is just post processing, something that has been around as long as cameras themselves. It's only cheating in the same way using a polarising filter is or something like that!
Cheers guys, glad to see its been well received, I wasn't sure if people would be interested in this! :D
Also worth pointing out, that this was very time consuming, even without the print screening the work took best part of 4 hours, so although the final image is quite nice, it needs the time...
I have recently started playing with Photoshop and having looked at a lot of videos on YouTube, and doing a lot of experimenting with shots, I was able to create a seemingly convincing shot of my car, as if it were taken while moving, be it from a chase car, or on a rig.
This was the finished...
Had a play with the colours of the edited shot, as they were a little too muted for my liking:

Much much happier with this! Can't wait to try another shot, want to challenge myself with a harder location :)

Not really played with the colours on it, never know what looks right really :(
Yeah exactly, I'm certainly not jumping on any high horses, I'm guilty as the next guy of giving it a bootfull here and there, but what he was doing was utterly ridiculous!
Yeah, when I was stopped during the chaos, he came over and said; "this is a high collision route, it'll be crawling with cops so best get going"
I thought, yeah good idea, nice of him to come and let me know.
A minute later he flys past on the other side of the road, doing a wheelie at easily...
Cheers for the compliments guys.
I'd love to make a tutorial, but its fair to say I don't know PhotoShop well enough, I would've thought I've done a lot of it wrong! I might have a go at putting one together over the week though, let some of the more experienced guys have a look, see what they...
I've actually toyed with this idea, would it not affect the wax on top? i.e I would still get a nice finish, but if the wax ever got stripped, I would have the C1 as an "undercoat" if you like?
