You wont really notice a difference in fuel between 172s/182s. I bought a 172 because it was cheaper at the time. Whatever you buy, make sure its had the belts done or make sure you have 600/700 ready to get them done!

Im also having this problem. Full lock to the right at low speeds and theres a very loud rattle. I know that my outer boot is burst and theres no grease left but chip, a quick one for you... Would this cause a bit of vibration at higher speeds of say 60ish?

Welcome to the forum. Really just check for service history and if the belts and dephaser etc have been changed at the right times. I paid 700 to get mine done so be careful :s Then just the usual stuff you'd check on any other car really
