Heater fan sticking

Hi all..

My resistor pack went last year which i replaced and all was well, now sinse the cold weather has come in, my heating was intermittent.
Sometimes if i started the car it wouldnt come on but then if i hit a bump while driving, it would fire up and be ok.

Now tonight i went to have a look and i figured that the motor is sticking or not starting itself.
I put my ignition on, turned the heater right up and there was nothing, but when i tap the fan under the scuttle panel the heater will come on fine.
I turned the car off then back on and again, no heating. So i tapped the fan again and it came on!

Can anyone give me any advice on this, whether i need to replace the whole fan or if mine can be sorted? Thanks

It may not be much help, but I'm sure there's a link on here somewhere showing how to test the heater.
If you bridge pins 1 and 5 on the heater resistor pack (if you have climate) the fan should run flat out.
If not, could be a loose connector or worn/damaged brushes??

Its not the resistor mate, thanks though.

After bashing the outside of the fan last night it seems to be working now.

Typical renault!
