Tried a second hand decoder ring tonight. The light went from solid to flashing, which to me suggests that either the decoder I got was broken, or it wasn't and there is another issue. Any ideas?

A leak wouldn't affect your MPG mate. CAT wise, as said get a second hand one off here. Dealer will rape you and then bum you. Think the 182 one is around £700 :eek:

Just been checking the earths over the weekend. How many are there on the 182? So far, i've checked the 2 GB ones, ecu, battery and starter. Are there any more?

If you want it diagnosing mate, i'll have a look at it for you. Dealer would charge you £70 ish just to have a look (not sure about independant). I'm using exactly the same kit as they are. However if it's still driving ok, you might be fine. Best to get these things checked though.

If you get stuck mate i'll run it on clip for you for a small fee ;) Have a look through the starting issues, they are quiet common, but if you want reassuring for a fraction of the dealers cost then drop me a pm.

you're supposed to do it in 3rd really. Needs to be on a flat surface with no wind etc. Hard to do correctly, and it's a very rough estimate compared to proper rollers

The TB does "buzz" when at ignition mate yeah. Saying that, it could be a fubard TB :( Can you manually move the butterfly valve ok? (engine off ;)) .

The more you move them towards positive sign, the harder they'll be, so it there isn't markings, i'd imagine it's soft anti clockwise, and hard clockwise. The best way is to do it all the way one way, go for a drive and do the opposite, and you'll know which is which. With regards to setting...

how do I actually download the apps once i've got cydia installed? Do I need to change the source to a certain link? when I search I can't find any of the usual apps.
