You are correct chip , its why the expansion is there in the exhaust then a small outlet .
Every last little thing has an effect on a 2 stroke , from barometric air pressure and density to exhaust design and flow. you are correct in assuming it affects where the power band will be , back in the...
from years of karting with anything from very high spec race 2 strokes reving to 22k to more recent rotax max engines which are more a 125 general use engine , the effect will be on power delivery mostly with the expansion chamber damage .
As you may know from your basic knowledge backpressure...
LOL , enjoy the car mate , but seriously the exhaust does it no favours , make it quieter , get it on track and find out what honda really built , you'll never find out on a road.
and you gotta admit this is better than a sweet factory...
no we don't have a Haribo factory your right , but i raise your sweet shop
and offer you
the uk's home of motorsport brooklands
then of course it built the most important bombers of world war 2 , building wellington bombers but yeah its no there now
oh hang on a minute we do have a...
you my friend have chosen to have a car that sounds like a chav wagon at no gain .... it does fit for the area you live in , any you have ruined what was a prefectly capable car .
i can see past my nose and i bet on a dyno that would actually make more than stock power , yes its a personal...
it does not sound the nuts in any way shape or form it sounds raspy and obnoxious
i have a 911 sc with an ssi on ... this is a nice sound
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cn4Osu5IotQ
and an s4 with a miltek thats not stupidly loud
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EE_QU3_M4Hs
and our 172...
Have to say you couldn't be further from being right , Chip hit it spot on ....
first your car shouts i am the biggest chav on the planet look at me ,but then you maybe don't as you'll blend in well in the valleys as anywhere you can buy a 3 bed house for the price of a decent sports care has...
the thick strip of rubber shown in the picture is a rim protector , its thick rubber and designed to stop your rim hitting a curb before the tyre when parking
they often get cut and are safe to stick down and do not need a new tyre
if the very edge is smooth but the rest of the tyre fine then...
the sidewalls don't , and have you any idea what a rim protector is on a tyre and what is for ?
they have nothing to do with structure , they stop you curbing rims and its fine to stick bits down again .
the outer edges on our s4 are worn .... they are fine across the rest of the tyre and...
you were issued an incorrect ticket or what you describe is not what they saw
http://www.etyres.co.uk/images/tyre-law-depth1.gif
Tyres MUST be correctly inflated to the vehicle manufacturer’s specification for the load being carried. Always refer to the vehicle’s handbook or data. Tyres...
all of those tyres are perfectly legal and fine , the first 2 have rim protector damage , 3rd is fine just the edge is feathered .
rim protector edges are just stuck down again by dealers all the time and happily pass and mot .....
the pic in the post above has been rubbing on something ...
i run a windows home server (HP media smart) , with a dedicated silverstone cased media PC under the TV .
we then have small linksys dma2100 extenders on the tv's elsewhere in the house .
the server has remote access so as long as i have decent internet connection i can just watch my stuff...
same here , i aint being throttled at all even at peak ........ however that 3.5mbs seems slow , mines between 5 and 6 , and what movie is 700mb :o .............. 4gb more like as no point not at least being 720p?
unfortunately people don't have tuition and don't realise how they are driving , the other clasic is understeer , cars suffering from huge amounts , alot of that is down to driving style and understanding of chassis dynamics .....
FWD is different to rear wheel drive again how the car behaves...
running alot of toe out?
the tyre scrub and the effect it would have on the road would not be nice , it depends what he calls a fair bit of toe out ?
i agree with the sentiment of the feel being the better thing , but if your having to run lots of toe out to combat understeer then something...
then i look at my last few years when i went back to top level karting , and i was doing a set of pads a weekend ....... and in fact would bed a set last thing on a saturday and fit for sunday as in the hotter summer months i could do a set on a race day ...... power braking kills pads , discs...
we are talking 7 or 8 years ago , and the kit was half the cost of the ap setup that could be used , but there are not a huge amount of options on 7 type cars due to getting things that will run in a 13" rim .
its one of the biggest single reasons for cooked brakes on trackdays ...... when you get to trail braking to apexes then it ups the loading's again , but that's not a technique really needed for track days , as there is nothing to gain .....
indeed ...... when i fitted my wilwood kit i wished i had fitted AP's , however they would not run on the disc bell setup i ran ...... boy was that light !!
In my personal opinion if you are upgrading stopping power by the amounts you suggest the 4 pots give you would also look at increasing grip levels in terms of suspension and tyres to at least the same amount if not more
I used to run 230bhp and 500kgs on discs bells and a wilwood midilight...
you do have to cool them yes , totally agree , however you also need to make sure everything else is spot on first
i am going to shortly sort all the brakes on out 172 , and i'll start from scratch checking everything , as they aren't great at the moment , but i bet the standard setup with...
or when was it last changed , as this most likely is another case of using a race bred product not within spec , SRF is highly hydroscopic ,soaks up water like a sponge , we changed it every 6 months , and always after a nice damp winter.
SRF thats soaked up water will boil after 2 laps if its...
that and i would be changing fluid on a track car (trackday) annually and using a very good fluid .....
in a no abs car i would be looking at something like castrol srf , the difference that makes to not fading is truly amazing .
could not agree more , and i know alot of trackdayers who also fall foul of that one ...... we always had a solution to the soft for road hard for track scenario ...... we call it a trailer .
on the westfield forum i was slated for many years over my very stiffly sprung setup as people were...
