To be honest all 3 are exactly the same cars (i.e a 172) with differnt pwr to weight ratios. Bearing in mind the pwr to weight ratios are so close the main differntiating factor partic between cup/182 is tyre choice - imho!
I think they look great and will be ordering some. Word of advice though, ever cautious brazo made a quick t/c to insurance company (admiral) and they are classed as a modification from std. No extra cost bar a £14 paperwork fee:cry: but better safe than sorry!
On a serious note and this aint a piss take I read in autocar that theay are producing a cup version. Wont be faster in a straight line just more track focused!
stat is from evo mag, just check the back pages, cup is quicker to 60 and ctr is quicker to the ton but doubt you will notice it in real world.
Oh and stick to the group N rally car not the 182;)
Correct me if im wrong but isnt the 182 a 172 with a few bits stuck on? In the same sense as the cup is a 172 with a few bits taken off?
Come on guys do you really think reno designed/developed and built a brand new car from scratch that will have a lifespan of only a year?
Then again I...
As I have said on a previous thread there are so any variables with figuring a car the cup has a better pwr/weight ratio and I assume the same transmission? Unless reno spent money on a better one?
With the above in mind it is all down to tyre choice. I understand the 182 had wider tyres...
If your speedo read 80 chances are you were doing 75. WIth 10% +2 rule you can do 79mph. This effectivly means you can drive in a 70mph zone reading 84 on yer speedo! - Dont quote me on this though;)
Bearing in mind that every mag posts a differnt time depenat on car/driver and every other other variable I think we will just have to rely on the manufactures quoted times!
The 182 is a very nice car but (and correct me if im wrong;)) it aint a ltd edition group N rally car and used prices will reflect this!
I am not a jealous cup owner though and can prove this by my weekly attendance at cups anonymous where I have to stand up and say my names brazo, I am a cup...
172 is a truly great car and as an everyday driver makes sense especially with all that ABS/ traction control stuff. Cup version puts a smile on yer face but best suited as a second car! 182 is an amalagamation of both. Lots of good cars without ABS though (ask Peter Wheeler) and it is not the...
