25Nm....think you ahve that a little wrong there fella, try something around 240Nm, thats for the hub nut, sounds like thats your problem
Oh and its Brakes ;)
Starter motor is simle enoguh, just a c**t to get to and get out
For gear lingage i'm guessing he removed it at the wrong place, can change the length of the gear linkage to adjust it so can get all the gears
Some people say williams shocks and uprated springs ie custom 200lb springs
Others, and this is a more popular option is coilovers, Avo are particularly favoured
Fucked gearbox
Valver gearboxes cn be had as cheap as £20 from ebay
Williams or R19 16v box will also fit, any JB3/JB5 box will fit from older cars, try to stick to a larger engined box as the ratios differ
1.2/1.4 decvat is slightly longer (20mm) than the 16v/williams
1.2/1.4/16v flanges are 90 degrees to each other, williams is 45 degrees with a larger downpipe flange
in 18 months i went through 4 clutch cables on my RSi, and 2 clutches initially as it kept snapping, and it was exactly the same.
Tehre is a new pedal mechanism you can get from reno for 23 quid that eases the problem, aklso teh clutch fork and release bearing fron an R21 (iirc) is longer and...
You're joking right???
Fibreglass skin weighs in at about 4kg, std bonnet is 20kg+
Lightweight wheels, all sound deadening, lightweight buckets, poly carb windows, rear wiper and motor, not worth top dash and plasrtic clips they weigh that little, charcoal canister and bracket are a good 7kg...
So it is, appologies...in thatcase change teh gearbox oil
Dunno what mk2 172's have....apart from pansy PAS, still tyres won't fluctuate from time to time and increase and decrease
exhaust?
does the gearstick ove excessivly when accelerating/ decelerating sharply? UIf so dogbone mount
If not do a visual inspection of the rubber in the other 2 mounts for cracking/deteriation
A) WTF differnce would HID sidelights make, HID is a high intensity beam, sidelights don't beam, they are position indicators, to show your presence on teh road to others around you
B) you aren't gona get HID lights as just bulbs, you need amplifier packs etc, and certainly won't get tehm for 99p
TBH it completely depends on milage, it could be on 100k!
Could eb a shite driver, slipping teh clutch all teh time, doesn't necessarily mean something is dodgy lol
That would have oppersite effect....think about it......scroll down for the answer
Heaverier stearing is caused by low tyre pressures
Tyre pressures are lower when cold to when they are hot
His stearig is light when cold, heavy when hot
Hence it can't be the tyres:cool:
might be the pas fluid, is it only light when its cold?
new alternator already.........most mk1 clios that are 10+ years old are just starting to need new alternators.....f**king don't make things like they used to
Might be due to teh belt expanding when cold and slipping, although you'd hear...
I would class myself as the 2nd type of person, i ahve no supplier lotyalty, just gpo to the cheapest, i fit all my own parts, and research parts independently from reviews/personal experiences/manufacturers stats etc
Which are you......jguessing by the section you qwuoted you wrere trying to...
This is so amusing, you blently have half the people on here that really know f**k all about cars etc and so will pay more for someone to explain where tehy £800 is going cus everyone else wants it, and will pay for it to be fitted etc
You then have the other half who are more 'clued up'...
Also chekc the gearbox oil level, and if its only hot the oil might be an issue, iirc it has to be changed every 72k? or 96k?
Stick some decent box oil in there, 75w90 iirc but don't quote me on that
Totally disagree with teh copycat cables comment, have had renault ones, GSF, HAlfords, and local motor facors (delphi i think), not had a problem with any of them, infact the Halfords one lasted longer than any of the others, including renualt ones.
As above i'd check the clutch pedal, its £23...
Odd the number of people from hwere that actually visit, but unless you lot use differnt usernames never seen any of you post, or do you just go tehre to check on teh count of williams that have thrashed 172's ;)
