My mum used to have that prob after cleaning her polo, it seemed water would get in the brake pads or sommet and the first time you braked you would have no stopping power. Was still under warrenty so took it to the garage and i think the flushed the system through and replaced the pads, but...
When you get it serviced (if it gets serviced) the oil will be changed then (or should be).

Dont get 6x9s and dont put em in the parcel shelf if you have a sub in the boot, the sound waves will overlap and some will cancel out and it will sound sh*t.
What i was told to do it get some decent front components and then justa sub in the boot
If you just put it in it will slow down ur car, due to the IK being mounted above the engine, if you do get it you will either need to put sh*t laods of ducting to it, or get a valver bonnet to it (if its a mk1)
My m8s uncle has a body shop near Banbury somewhere, he painted and fitted his body kit, has done a decent job from what i can see.

Depending where you are m8 i might be able to give you a hand, been reading up on it and pretty know exactly what to do. Planning to do mine over the next few months (funds permitting)
