Why would you want to put 182 seats in? Bar the Renault sport stitching, and the slight colour difference they are the same? Ph1's are more fun than ph2's, 100%. But also older, parts will need replacing etc. If what you have now is reliable, I'd probably stick with it.

Brothers got a 172 and a 133. The 172 is quicker everywhere. If a 182 struggled, it's poorly.

In all honesty, purely for road use I'd use standard if not going for the ferodo's. Just make sure fluid etc is good, and braided hoses are worthwhile.

My 182's were always 32-33, 172's 35. 22mpg, as an average is only possible by driving like a clownshoe, or sitting in traffic most of the time.
