Hi guys,
Atm, I'm planning on attempting this myself. I do not have a trolley jack, and was planning on using a diamond type emergency jack. Should I ditch that idea and go with a trolley jack?
The plan of attack was to jack the car up, place wheel underneath sill as a safety precaution...
Yeah we have a pretty budding community. Drive days every month or two (we have a few smallish mountains in the bush we hit up). French cars aren't popular here (it's all about V8's, WRX's etc), but Top Gear is going some way to expose the rest of Australia to how brilliantly fun they can be.
Hi guys,
I've just bought myself a super, super clean 182 FF with Sportlines, Short shift kit, Odyssey battery, recovered steering wheel, etc as a daily. I have a set of anthracite 2118's in my garage ready to go on, as well as a Skoda splitter and some tasty semi-slick rubber. Arrives here...
Great. oliver, it was your car that made me want to get Speedlines. Saw it when browsing one day unregistered in the top banner, and spent hours reading about them :D
So my 182 is being delivered this week, and I have a set of 2118's in the cupboard. It's running Sportlines on it atm, with stock shocks. Will it be low enough to make the 2118's work?
Oh, just a few posts on here allude to them being very notchy. Like this quote for example:
I love a sweet gearbox, but so long as it's no worse then an average car I don't mind.
I'm looking at a 182, and have yet to drive it.
I keep hearing reports on how bad the gearbox is. Is it that bad? The one I'm looking at has an EngineDynamics short-shift kit . How would it compare to say a 1991 205 GTI?
Yeah that's what I figured. I was all set to buy a monaco blue 172, but the seller pulled out, and now I'm interested in a 182. I have a set of 2118's and was wondering what they might look like. It looks lower, and is running Eibach Sportlines (30mm drop).
So ET45 is correct for a 182 cup...
Re: Wheels similar is design to OZ Superleggera, Team Dynamics 1.2, Speedline Turinis
I'm not sure what they are like now, and maybe they have improved. But a few years ago I was in a car where his front left completely sheared away from the spokes when braking. It wasn't on a track, and it was...

To compound matters further, I am now even more confused which style wheel I like. I now have a thing for speedline 2118's. Ala:

Braid's wheels look hot, but none of them are available in dark silver, anthracite or black.

The Fox looks alright. Not touching Rota. Heavy and poor quality.
