Been playing this for the last week or so. Hadn't played it since 2009 but decided to pop it in and try and get on with The Ballad of Gay Tony - I'd already got quite far on it and also completed Lost and Damned and noticed I'd only picked up 20 of the 65 Achievements in the game itself.
Have...
Cheers for that Mick. Renault only opened again today so I was asking questions and not getting it looked at because of that very reason.
I took it in today and one of the mechanics had a quick 5 minute listen. Purely as a guess he suggested it could be a spark plug issue. The lead engineer...
Cheers Dan. It's these things I'm trying to isolate and check off the list. Folk are saying it shouldn't be the lifters either, but it's got that tappety sound.
Also, I find it more than a coincidence that when my exhaust was fixed, a few days later the tapping started. Could the high speed...
Mine is just the tapping which is annoying. It's honestly not as bad as the video makes it out to be, but any foreign noise is a bad noise. It's also coming from the right hand side of the engine, as far as I'm aware.
Dephaser apparently shouldn't make the noise from cold, only when it's warmed up.
Could it maybe be a lead off a spark plug is loose? Worth checking. I'll be doing the same on mine over the next few days when I'm trying to diagnose the problem. I hope it's not the lifters or the dephaser, as...
Can't quite get the sound on your vid mate, but does it sound anything like this?
http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?576260-Tap-Tap-Tap
Or more a clunky noise?
Why is this, out of interest?
For the record, mine taps from cold. As said above, it was pretty bad until the oil and engine flush. Now it's not so bad but still there which is the problem.
Nope. It's constant now. Like I said it's more of an annoyance than anything else.
If it was the dephaser, isn't the tapping supposed to stop at 1.5k or so? This doesn't.
So I've searched and found countless threads on the dreaded tapping and sewing machine noise on the Clio. I remember even fitting a new set of tappets on my Clio Williams (which actually didn't solve the problem). It appears I'm getting a similar noise now on the 182.
The story goes - As the...
There's a preview of this in a couple of the latest mags, and I have to say it looks absolutely sensational. I already thought so, TBF, but I can't wait for this.
I really wanted the same as you, mate, but I couldn't find one on either website I was limited to. It got a 10/10 on Trustedreviews and great writeups elsewhere.
Bah.
I was slightly put off the D3000 by the fact you can't use the LCD as a viewfinder, so you have to use it as a proper camera.
Bloody hell, this will hit Sony HARD.
Crazy. I've got a 360 and a PS3 and use the PS3 for movies, media playing and Uncharted games. Any idea what I should be checking, password wise?
Ordered a Lumix TZ10 digital camera from Very.co.uk. It was in the sale, £100 off from £279 and also used £30 off promo code, so all in for £149.
At that price and from the reviews I've read, couldn't really go wrong. Point and click will do for now. Would have gone for an FZ38 but neither...
Ahh yeah. I did notice that one but thought it might be poverty spec. :o
Hmm. So I can get a D3000 entry level DSLR with non VR 18-55mm lens, or a pretty neat digital camera for less money that will still take nice shots.
Is something like this overkill then?

I would have looked for the TZ18 but Argos don't seem to stock it, but then do stock that one.
Dan, you are a fountain of knowledge. In a photography sense. Oh and you too Gally and Jenix. I think the Lumix range might be for me, TBH. I'm a gadget freak but I don't think I could be arsed with all the messing about and editing, and TBH I could - in theory - still do that with the Lumix...
Like I say, I just want some photo's like the one's I've taken above but good quality. The Cybershot is starting to lose it's appeal now and taking pictures of the RB182 as well as the family I'm seeing the quality seemingly lessen. Maybe it's just me or the progression of better cameras.
Cheers Dan.
So what exactly is the difference between the DSLR and that Lumix you've suggested? The Pana can do HD movie recording, which is a nice bonus, but what am I losing out on for this?
Thanks Kev. Much appreciated. I will look into the bridge stuff, but so many folk swear by the DSLR's that I'm kinda being swayed by all the talk of them, when in reality perhaps a £250 digital camera would do just as nicely?
It's a toughie. I'm sure I'd love the D3000, but for £300 it's a...
Firstly, I realise there are countless threads kicking about, so apologies as I'm trying to be specific to my needs. I'm an absolute newbie when it comes to photography, other than taking thousands of shots of my cars (as you'll know) and family with either a mobile phone camera or my trusty...
