Re: Ph1 172
I've got an EC1 ECU but I think I'm going to sell it and get a Gen90 in September time as KTec are doing an adapter loom so its plug 'n' play in a ph1. Don't fancy splicing it into the loom, just haven't got the time or patience any more.
Re: Ph1 172
Its a KTec recessed exhaust, nice and quiet with two silencers. Got a 182 exhaust trim to fit in the bumper when I get the car back.
I think the nicest looking exhaust on the Ph1 is the Pure Motorsport one. Fraser has one fitted I believe.
Re: Ph1 172
Head is now with ALDevelopment in Leeds. Fred is sorting me out with some Supertech valves and I've done a deal on some AT Power ITBs.
The ITBs will be in storage for a while though whilst my wife uses the car. I'm in no major rush to get them on this year, I'll do it over the...
Just Googled it and most threads on it are on the MG Rover forums (surprise surprise!). Best asking on there I think, they probably carry a bottle in the car.
I'm trying to get some, the garage said they might be able to get them from the local Renault garage as they've done that a few times before. The lad working on it is an ex Renault Sport guy, he's worked on the Williams, 1*2 and in Sweden on the V6s.
How much are these parts worth?
182 EC1 ECU with Can controller and loom
Ph1 cable throttle conversion
Ph1 twin barrel cat
Ph1 driveshafts (both sides) with CVs
Yes I will do tomorrow. I'm starting to think it'll be more hassle than its worth. I need to stop messing around and get it out on track. I'll give Paul and Catcams a call though to find out the details.
Yes they would be better, however its even more cost on pistons and a rebore. Honda VTEC engine run a similar compression ratio and they cope fine with high rpm lairy cams. Granted the dynamic CR will be reduced though.
Tbf the catcams 422 are still not that lairy, but are about as far as I'd...
I've been looking at the Gen90 as the plug and play is appealing
I could get the engine place by me to do bigger valve cutouts in the standard pistons for the 422s if required
I can't find any dyno data for them to compare with other cams though.
Obviously some high CR pistons would be nice to make the most of them but will they work with the standard items without the valves touching?
If not, how much better are the 421 over the Pipers?
Yeah. I was just looking at replacing the springs whilst they were out, might avoid a dropped valve in the long run. I've had a couple of springs go in the past
