Very similar has been done, about 8 years ago. Gains were minimal, and it was eventually removed in favor of throttle bodies. The same set turned up a few months after removal, sold privately, and again gains were minimal when fitted to another car. You're best of with just normal matching IMO

Sounds like an ignition fault. The lambda fault is probably a red herring thrown up by the ignition fault leaving a lot of unburnt fuel. Can't really say more than that without plugging in and trying a few things

Timesert 100%. Helicoil's are very strong, but not the right thing in this case. put lots of grease on the tap and back it out to wipe the swarf off frequently. then dip a stick with grease on it as mentioned above Cranking the engine over with the plug removed should blow any stray shards out...

depends how you have it set. It's normally a pretty big download, so you want it to be on wifi to update. Check your software version, and there should be a tick box for automatic checking for updates
