hmmm...a whistle from the injection system? about two weeks ago, I had my parcel shelf out and my back seats folded....and that whistle at 6k is absolutely coming from the exhaust, IMHO. I listen again the next time the rear seats are flipped.

Ive mentioned before that my C172 has an appalling turning circle for a small car. When I park, people must think that tw*t cant get that small car in that massive space. Not my fault guv! (but then I couldnt park a Smart car properly in an empty Millennium Dome).

badboy, as bambam says.... in my own quest for some nice wheels, Im coming to the conclusion that what works on the front doesnt always work on the back of the car, making it difficult to choose a decent set, IMHO.

ive been thinking about new wheels for the Clio and the new shape is causing problems. The reason is that some wheels look great at the front of the car, but poor at the back. This is because the B and C pillar are very upright (or formal), so if you buy a wheel with vertical opposing spokes, on...
"are you the son of satan? Do you intend to use your car to instill fear and hate and loathing to all other road users? Is your car a chariot designed for the depths of hell, able to transport virginal flesh as a sacrifice to he who is destined to bring misery and fury to this earth?"
"No...
ok, so, so far I also have a one touch passenger window to go with my lights on buzzer that also works when my passenger door is open. Maybe, being an import an all, they couldnt decide if it was to be LHD or RHD so they made it ambidextrous? ;)

at about 6k rpm, my exhaust whistles real loud - its not a rasp, it is a definite whistle. I like it. I hope this is not the 4k exhaust rattle/loose baffle that Ive read about? Whaddya think troops?

rocko, I dont dispute that at 37 miles the mileage is indeed excessive.
Im sure that with "Because theyve given me permission to drive their car as I would my own" theres a clause that says ...which is carefully and relative to the purpose that particular car was designed for. ;)

hi ak_uk,
do you know what...I sort of thought it could have been a relay or something - you know the noise the ABS unit makes when it cuts in, it sounded like that...it sounded like it was processing information, if that makes any sense, or trying to action a command. Nah, nah, got it now...
sorry for your troubles.
Im amazed that part of our driving test doesnt include advice on how to handle blowouts - after all, there are things like blowouts that will happen to all of us while driving and being taught how to cope with them could be the difference between life and death. Its...
er, yeah, cheers Nev! :D
Geordiepaul; could be, but the fan was off at the time, so unless the revs where making the flap resonate, Im not sure it was that. I will check that though; cheers for the tip.

driving yesterday, mobile rings. Pull over, turn off radio, take the call, but engine is running.
Call ends and I can hear like a wirring or humming noise, almost like electrical interference through the speakers. Radio is off, so i turn the fan off. I turn the phone off. Noise still there. It...
because im feeling emotionally insecure. A big safe swede will sooth me more than another daft old Alfa. For a bit, anyway. :D And I think they look lovely for a mid range saloon.
