makes sense now! how do i find out the unswept capacity? also by that im assuming when we talk about 2 litre engines or 1.8's were talking about swept capacity not total capacity?

lucky its boosted then ;) only reason i ask is because on the tech data of the pistons it had the value: -13cc which to me says its taking 13cubic centimeters out of the capacityu of the engine? could be completley wrong mind you!

while we're on the subject of bores. if my F7R now has 83mm pistons what capacity is it?

something rings a bell about there not being enough room to play between bores and oil galleys etc... maybe thats why its not done. i know the F7R's are done if fitting new pistons. had mine done as it happens

yes of course but if you get 225 bhp and you go for a spireted drive your not exacxtly going to be thinking about how fragile the box is are you? and if you do itl take the spirit of the drive away. always feathering the throttle to not damage the box, easy downshifts to care for it. only once...

your taking this a bit serious lol. it was only a joke. and fyi yes torque kills gearboxes. fact of life. and iirc the Jc5's are rated to 200nm of torque. start turboing and youl get over that easilly

thats what im worried about. would be asy enough if i just swapped an F7R into it but ive added a turbo and im unsure wether that would cause some issues. ive spoken to sky and they keep syaing ring them. no point because its not done yet lol

so james.f was right. change the v5 with proof from renault thats its an F7R engine and the DVLA will sort that for me meaning taxing and moting the car is just as normal. what do i do about insurance? is it a case of they will see the dvla's records and give me a quote + my modifications or...

yes depending on how bad/how friendly your mot tester is i had a small leak in my centre section last year and he passed it because it was tiny and he knew id get it replaced anyway. emissions struggled even with that small hole anyway tho ;)

can someone make me a lost of evrything i need to do to get this certified and legal please? i.e inform the dvla etc. ive put an F7R into a 1.6 (K4m) megane but ive turbocharged the engine. so whats involved in getting this right so its easy to tax and insure every year? cheers
