Evo timed the 182cup slightly quicker than the Trophy around Bedford (old track configuration). Seeing as whenever the point is made (1*2 v 197) the first thing mentioned is "it wasn't a cupped 197" etc, only fair to use the mostup to date version of the 182, no?

Current one looks good, not sure on this. The ph1 seems to draw the eye horizontally, makes the car look squat/wider. The facelift seems to draw the eye vertically, makes it look taller/thinner. Love the Meg though.

Not as forgiving, but the limits are higher. I got rid of mine, as I didn't have more fun on them, and they increase wear on parts like bearings etc due to the increased grip.

I can vouch for mikey's quality, spot on. When you consider the prices of ktec etc, £100 is a bargain.

Always difficult comparing a car on tired dampers with a brand new one. I don't think the 182 would be ranked as one of the best ever hot hatches if the handling was that bad?

Exactly, it isn't for everyone. What I do find strange, is that for year people on here were criticising the Civic Type R for relatively numb steering and a relative lack of mid-range. Now those sort of faults aren't important.

IMO, the 197 looks great, great interior, great brakes, sounds better than a 1*2. All the cars I've driven haven't felt as urgent/immediate as 1*2. But the big thing that would (and has) stopped me getting one, is the relative lack of feedback. I found the steering numb, and I just couldn't get...
