I went had a look at this over the weekend, looks alright if you want a relatively cheap way to try your hand at competitive driving: http://www.javelinsprintdays.co.uk/JTSS/
I know these guys are a bit out of the way, but Chelmsford Motor Club have got into targa rallies in a big way. There is some info here: http://chelmsfordmc.co.uk/node/3711
Worth looking for motor clubs in your area to see if they are running anything similar.
My friend bought a Ph.2 172 from an auction last night for the princely sum of £450. Thought I'd ask on the off chance that it had been a member's car at some point!
Targa rallies could be an option? Somewhere between an autosolo and a road rally.
Start getting into racing and stage rallying and it costs a fortune.
Javelin Track Days run their own sprint series.
What a pile of turd. Rat look is cool on old hot rods that have been neglected visually. Rat look that has been added to a more modern car in the name of "scene" is truly ridiculous. I have never really understood why someone would want to drive around in a car that looks s**t on purpose...
Good to hear. Drain shouldn't be too much of an issue for me, as mine will be isolated by the cut-off switch when not in use.
How does the first one stack up to yours spec-wise, any idea? Listing for the second one doesn't look too helpful, even if the price is better!
How are you getting on with the JMT battery on this? Still ok?
I've been looking on eBay and found these two:

@EVOgone and @Pauleds are the men to advise you on rallying a Clio. Good little cars that can be reasonably competitive on a pretty tight budget.
That's what I'd do, but I'm biased.
That's the purpose of the internet isn't it? Arguing about everything.
Performance is only part of the equation though. Whilst it does matter, it isn't the be-all and end-all for many people. How the car makes you feel can be just as important, or the steering feel, or the ride, or the looks...
Steady on, I'm allowed an opinion.
You're right, I haven't sat in a Trophy. I have, however, driven a 200t and thought it was distinctly average. The Trophy is apparently better but I still think it misses the point. Renault tried to appeal to a broader audience but appear to have largely...
I expect this will be produced in very limited numbers and cost a lot of money for a Clio. That won't matter though, it never does with these kind of cars. It will probably end up being one of those collectable little oddities.
It looks a cool car but really it just shows how badly they missed...
I kind of like it. They're not taking themselves too seriously, having a bit of fun with it.
The perfect corporate nonsense that other manufacturers spew out is much worse really.
That being said, does it tell us anything more about whether they're actually going to make it?
