    172 Cup Stage Rally Car

Funny, I met Jamie at the Rally GB media preview a couple of years ago. He took me for a spin in his Swift, has a 2.0 Duratec Ford lump in it? He does seem to be a bit unlucky with reliability in that car but it certainly goes well and he is a pretty handy driver. Nice bloke too. Sounds like a...

    172 Cup Stage Rally Car

The class system is just bonkers at national level in my view, but that's a whole other story. What kind of things were you up against? Good result either way, was it your first time there?

    172 Cup Stage Rally Car

Forgive my brain being stuck in the 1990s, but that sounds like a Group N class? How do they work the classes on that event?

What class did you fit into Paul? Good result. Would love to do the Manx.

    2016 Audi RS3

Thank god for warranties. All of the gizmos that are being fitted to modern performance cars are rather nice but sod owning one when it's got a few years and several thousand miles under its belt. A lot of these types of car could become an expensive used proposition in the future!

    First in the world apparently..

What TBs are they? Bike ones? The guy does enjoy an exclamation mark for sure.

New to forum... what size alloys are you running on your 182/172

I think changing to 15" wheels is a good shout. I did it on mine (went for the wheels off a Clio Williams). If nothing else, it just gives you a nice wide choice of tyres at a better price. A set of sticky tyres, a refresh of all the suspension bushes and some decent springs/dampers and you...

    2016 Audi RS3

I'm confused. It's a nearly new car with a warranty. Why can't a main dealer do it? Are Audi dealers really that pants?

    That looks perfect!

    Phone Options...?

Personal choice I think. I've had two Windows phones and rate them highly. Perfect integration with my mail, access to Office, great camera, the handset is indestructible and the OS is super clean. I think Android looks like it was designed by a five year old and iPhones are totally idiotic in...

    2016 Audi RS3

I think that would have to be judged on a case by case basis though. Two engines of the same configuration can be very different.

    Phone Options...?

Lots of phones out there that are just as good, if not better, than anything Apple make. And they don't screw people over with changing plug types every five minutes lol.

    Phone Options...?

I have two phones currently; a Nokia Lumia 930 for personal use and was given an iPhone 6 for work. The iPhone is turd in my view, I really don't see the appeal, but obviously a lot of people like them. I think I will be following my friend's path. When the contract runs out on my Lumia next...

Nowt wrong with an old Escort. There's a lot wrong with that old Escort I admit, but not with old Escorts generally lol.

    2016 Audi RS3

I don't see why people get such a stiffy over the sound of a V8. I'd take a five pot turbo soundtrack over most V8s or V10s. We all have different tastes.

To car bra or not ?

When I was at uni a lad had a Golf R32 (that his dad bought for him) and he ran a bonnet bra on that. Then one day he came in with a complete front end bra thing on it. He got so much stick from people that it was gone the next day!

Glad you found one you like mate. I know you said you were after Sportlines, but I've got a set of Cooksports I might be tempted to part with if they would be of interest?

Learning car limits/how to drive the bloody thing!!!!

Pretty sure they do tarmac stuff and you can use your own car too I believe. Worth giving them a call. They're pretty well respected in rally circles and that's where the Impreza is born from!

Learning car limits/how to drive the bloody thing!!!!

Have you considered doing a rally type one? Maybe try giving some of the rally schools a call and explaining what car you have and what you're after? Some of these guys will have done a lot of competitive mileage in 4WD cars with fancy diffs so should know how to get the best out of them...

I can understand that. The Hurricane was always a bit of an ugly duckling next to the Spit but it was definitely the workhorse, you're right there. That's a lot of money, but I think it would be worth every penny. They have flown over my house on the odd occasion (a Lancaster did too actually...

Interesting, why the Hurricane over the Spitfire? I'd be happy with any of them to be honest! Have you looked much into prices for doing it? I know what you mean. It's a shame that cars of this nature usually end up being broken, but it's the only way to get anything like a sensible return...

I would absolutely love to go up in a Spit. Real dream of mine. Big shame that this is going to be no more though. My favourite car on the forum by a long way. Would really love to buy it off you.
