you're looking for abnormalities in the shape of the tyre or bulges in the sidewalls,
these are usually from running at very low pressures or hitting a pothole/kerb
Stalling the turbine wheel sounds good but wears the f**k out of thrust bearing and give silly amounts of lag,
Anti lag with ignition cut is what Jims neighbours need/want for those early morning shifts
if the rail isn't seeing the correct fuel pressure straight away you're going to see a long crank, as Mark said do a leak off test to take the injectors out of the equation

I'm looking too and watched loads of videos on youtube,
they look ok for 50% of work but they're an awkward height if you want to pull the gearbox etc as you're half way between knelt down and stood up
this is another option if in a standard height garage...
It's probably why i'll never own another 172/182, I paid £1600 for a mint 70k mile 182
