EVO have always said the standard 197 is good on throttle adjustability, the cup chassis makes the car more composed with higher limits, but less throttle adjustable. And LOL at Tiff, he's a great driver, which is why he can make any car dance, I'm more interested in what normal people can do...

TBF non-cupped 182 is 95% same as 172, so for the money you got a great deal.

No cup packs on that, but still a bargain. Was in this situation in Jan, looked at loads. Every low priced 182 was rough (that I found). Ended up going for a late, mint 172. I've had 2 172's, and a 182. Not enough of a difference in handling to justify spending 1k more. Put prolines on mine, 95%...

You might be lucky, but scraping the barrel at that price. Better to spend the same getting a mint 172.

You don't do much mileage, reckon you'll be missing out on the biggest benefits of a 197 (refinement etc). Fuel costs would be a worry as well, £1.50 litre and 25ish mpg:S. Don't get me wrong, if you sell I'll happily take some bits off your car;);).

I'll bring the mag on sunday. It's the trophy owned by the guy that owns the mag, it's a 182 trophy and a 197 cup. The times aren't the same as the old ones as the track layout's changed.

Given that the 197 runs wider rubber, has a wider track, far better brakes, and a pretty similar power to weight, it should tear the Trophy a new one. I think it shows how impressive the Trophy is/was.

Lot of miles on a clio, given the other cars available at that price.
