    RaceChip vs Custom ECU remap.

OK so looking at it a little bit more, the module plugs into the wiring loom. So basically where you would have sensors mainly fuel ones I'm assuming, connected to the car it connects to the module and then into the car. From what I can find it does control the fueling from there but as you said...

    RaceChip vs Custom ECU remap.

To be honest I don't know if it loads the map or not, we could do with an independent test by a tuner to see what it really does. I don't think it just ups the fuel or tricks the car to thinking it's cooler then it is to over fuel tho. I think it's better than that. I'll have to try and do some...

    RaceChip vs Custom ECU remap.

My understanding is that racechip put r&d into the maps for each car just like revo would do. Then once they have the map sorted they load it onto the chip and sell it. You then just plug it into obd and then I guess it loads it's map or it runs the map off the chip not sure on that. It seems...

    RaceChip vs Custom ECU remap.

I understand what you are saying and I agree, but i don't think the racechip is that bad compared to these tuning boxes and s**t you get on eBay.

    RaceChip vs Custom ECU remap.

It comes down to how much you want to spend. The fuel pumps on the DCi are pretty shocking anyways. I would go for the race chip personally on this car. If you get the higher end one you can reprogram it and use it on another car or just sell it on. Any cheap remap is just going to be a flash...

    New car(s) dilemma...

Well Honda paint isn't the best so if it hasn't been painted then it's not that surprising especially on that colour of car.

    New car(s) dilemma...

Looks pretty clean tbh, compared to others i have seen. EDIT: i was only going by the picture you posted and the level of rust.

    New car(s) dilemma...

The VTS is around 170BHP i think and weight around 1100KG. So pretty quickly and they handle really well. You can increase the power with not too much work. I would either get something french or a Civic/Mx5

    New car(s) dilemma...

EP3 would be the best one to get, but prices are going up. My mates supercharged one was a weapon and mainly used as a track car.

Honda Civic 2.2 CDTI Type S

Just spent another £230 on genuine parts. Service kit - Oil filter, Oil, Air Filter, Fuel Filter, Pollen Filter, Sump Washer, Oil Filter Removal Tool, 3 Litres MTF Fluid, Wipers and a funnel lol. That should give me enough to do over the weekend as well as rear brakes, sort the exhaust noise...

Honda Civic 2.2 CDTI Type S

To be honest, im pretty happy with it all considered. I have owned many Honda's mainly older ones and they have been alright. So long as i just carry out servicing etc then hopefully this one will be good to me.

    New car(s) dilemma...

OK BMW parts will be a bit more expensive. I would still go for 135i and have a set of track wheels and brakes for it. I can't imagine it will have many issues on track apart from maybe temps.

    New car(s) dilemma...

Personally i think the M135i would be the best idea as you are only going to use is for 5 track days so surely the extra cost is going to be cheaper then getting a full on track car and towing it around etc. Then the M135i would be fine when you are not on track and would be more fun.

Honda Civic 2.2 CDTI Type S

Yer alot of people said similar things to me, but that's what i wanted to do. If i got all the parts from Honda it would of cost 300/350 then pay another garage labour etc so it would of been over £500. I could of got a 3rd party manifold for £100ish, but i wanted genuine. Could of got a...

Honda Civic 2.2 CDTI Type S

So exhaust manifold was done yesterday by Honda, haven't smelt any fumes and sounds a bit quieter. The leak seems to be fixed aswell so just need to clean the interior and put it back in. Sadly the backbox has started rattling badly on idle, @Danith do you know what exhaust rubber it would need...

    1.5 dci turbo

Ah I miss my old Caddy SDI work van, it was so epic. I hooned it everywhere, it had a million miles and never broke down! Just did the usual oil, filter and it carried on forever.

    RaceChip vs Custom ECU remap.

Saying that I was thinking about getting an i30n at some point and racechip now do one for that, but Yer least you can remove it easy enough and sell on if you wanted.

    RaceChip vs Custom ECU remap.

No disrespect, but with the type of car it is I personally wouldn't bother with a proper remap and just go with racechip.

Honda Civic 2.2 CDTI Type S

I know what you are saying and it did cross my mind, but i didn't want to invest in the Skoda as i didn't really enjoy driving it tbh. The Civic is far superior in pretty much every way and if the only money i have to spend is the manifold and then just maintenance im happy.

Honda Civic 2.2 CDTI Type S

So slight update, i took the map off the car last night and kept the EGR delete. The clutch is alot better for it and i can live with the stock power. The problem isn't the clutch is worn, its a design fault in the pressure plate. Any who i have called Honda UK also to fight the extortionate...
