CSF24 ClioSport Festival 2024 - Book Tickets Now!

Next year!! 😂 That will be my name badge next year I spent the day stressing that the 197 was going to break, not because I wouldn't get it home but because I had told everyone if it did I was going to stand on the roof and auction it off at a massive loss and I knew I couldn't back out!!

CSF24 ClioSport Festival 2024 - Book Tickets Now!

Fantastic weekend, last year was our first year but we didn't do track time and still had a great time making it worth the 5/6hr drive, but this year we done the morning track session and it was brilliant. Its been years since any of us done any track days and having never done Anglesey the...

    Martin's 197 Lux Project

Well... It made it! Not bad economy for a 197 either! Maybe its the RStuner map?! The worlds most unreliable car done the 6 hour drive down, battered round track all morning and then a 5 hour blast back north. Only one slight issue when we decided to go for a curry after CSF, i let...

    Martin's 197 Lux Project

As is always the case with this car, nothing is ever easy, after overhauling the rear brakes, chasing ABS issues, getting all that sorted etc my mate was looking to have his airbags disabled on his 200 track car, not a problem I said, I've got an RSTuner, we can go half's on the module and do...

    Ph1 Hot in Traffic

as abovee an uprated fan is just masking the issue, if you know the fan is working and coming on and off as it should then as above get a radiator, thermostat, coolant temp sensor and new coolant, may be worth sticking a waterpump on it at the same time depending on how bad the coolant that...

My 197 is fighting me every step of the way, ive now got the rest of the week off work to get it 1. Running, 2. Road trip ready, 3. Track time ready! If it doesn't work then my options are the RSI or the Arnold Clark Dacia Sandero courtesy car I've had for 3 months while my Megane is...

the steering wheel insert was an accessory from the accessory catalogue. The standard wheel had white stitching with the red band at 12 oclock, they almost instantly fell apart and most have been retrimmed

    How much extra BHP ?

I wouldn't be so sure, the fastest RS I've ever had is my RaceVan which runs a pattern part cheapo from the motor factors
  15. Martin_172

    How much extra BHP ?

    2003 172 Phase 2 Air Con Condenser

    Dci 65 to dci85/100

It's been a few years since I messed with them but from what I remember 65 and 80 are similar, 80 has the intercooler and if I remember right has an additional boost pressure sensor on the intercooler pipework. Runs higher boost from a similar turbo but I do believe they have different parts...

    Upbadging Nonces

Maybe I'll just never understand it, but what makes people think I'm going to buy a sport badge and stick it on my car?? Is it so other people think it's a "sport"? Does it help them convince themselves it's a sport? What does sport even mean????? Stop the world, I'm getting off.

    Air conditioning refresh

As above id get a condenser for it as they are cheap. You have 2 lines coming from the bulkhead to the compressor and condenser and then one pipe linking the 2. There are various size oring seals on each joint (I just use universal kits with loads of seals in a box) Id replace the condenser...

    Trophy 220 brakes

My 220 trophy stopped way better than any of my 197/200s ever did I felt! The brembos do look good, pad choice is good and there's a big saving in unsprung weight! My Mégane 205 runs the same brakes and they are equally as good!

    Coil spring rubbing 😢

Normal with cheap motor factor springs, this is why the genuine ones have a rubber cover over the bottom few coils, you will be getting knocking over bumps etc only pic i could find, you can see the rubber cover

Air con not cold, just regassed and compressor is spinning

requires a regas, thats all your hissing is, as above take it to a specialist who will leak test it, drain it and regas it with fresh gas and oil. At that age its probably worth sticking a condenser on it for all they cost
