Not sure how old the one in mine is (it is carbon). But the bearings were all completely shagged. So a good freshen up can’t hurt. It feels totally different now.

Finished the refurb today. New upgraded pivot bearing is a big improvement. Not only is the motion smoother and plusher, it no longer rattles. As mentioned above, the bearing feels much better than the stock one. More of a controlled motion.

All the hearings were seized. So wanted to replace them. Hoping the selector will be nicer to use. And less rattly. I don’t mind buying tools, I buy them as I need them. Useful to have around
