I will be talking it over with Matt at TDF but ultimately the fuses etc will be housed somewhere nicely, and it will all be water tight, this will only be temporary before i visit him.
so tomorrow i aim to make a start on sorting the bay a bit more, few things i need to tidy. i have been donated these pics by mr bumface to aid in my ecu mounting, thank you sir...
also need to get the battery wired in properly.
UPDATE:
If you have been reading this thread recently you will see that i have been in doubts over what to do with the car. This has mainly been due a fair few big changes in my life. Some may not think its all that but its a fairly big deal for me. Last week i left what a few will know was a...
cheers mate, i will need your help if possible, but only information based, can you send me a pick or some info of how you re-attached your ecu in the bay?
yeah thats what i have thought, i am really unsure how things are going to unfold with the build and its structure, i was alright earlier...
cheers dan, will look into them,
hopefully the nasty commute will be short term, we are actively seeking somewhere to move to asap, after that i will just be doing at max the same as what i was doing to bath,
if i had the choice i would keep the passat, touch-wood its been pretty much faultless...
pm'd
this surprisingly interests me too

i really don't mean this in a sarcastic way but can you elaborate some more please, other reasons why?
to be honest i don't want any of these, i really want to keep the passat (but needs possibly must), and if i need to get something i don't want it needs to be cheap and save me lots.
the...
again thanks for all the kind words guys, really appreciate it.
have been thinking about this a little more,
as you say iceman it is an interest, something i was thinking about before i read your comment the other day, i was thinking about where we are moving to, and the fact we will not know...
i seriously think the passat will have to go now, unless i can wangle some kind of swaps within the family, i will pitch that to my sister / gf (not the same person...lol)
the favorite at the moment are clio DCi's
they are only £30 on tax
i looked at 306 HDi's but they are another £100 tax...

I am also contemplating breaking the 172,
its really not something i want to do but i am kind of stuck in limbo.
as mentioned above things have recently taken a change in my life, initially i am commuting but then i am going to have to move.
currently the clio is in a mates unit that i pay £40...
funny that an update, not about project car in question, gets the most replies of late...lol
probably not optional mate, naomi's isn't that much better, it all kind of depends how long it takes us to move, but in the passat i would be spending around £100 on petrol a week....
like this one, only in bristol

Well my life situation has changed of recent and in the next few weeks i have a real nasty commute ahead of me. I will be doing around 112 miles daily. As much as i love the passat i will be filling it back up every 3rd day, and at £70 per tank its not really viable.
I am considering selling it...
on another note my life situation has changed of recent (this could effect a few other things too) and in the next few weeks i have a real nasty commute ahead of me. I will be doing around 112 miles daily. As much as i love the passat i will be filling it back up every 3rd day, and at £70 per...
