Great day yesterday, some very expensive machines. Poor from a photography point of view as the infield was closed and there were only 2/3 places to take pics really. That green rx7 spat 3 foot flames the whole way round! They have got a hell of a lot of work to do at donny as its a bit run down...

sigma 100-300mm f4

I took about 800 photos and have 100+ keepers, so not a great ratio!

probably about 250-300mm

I used it for all the shots by the hairpin. Seems pretty good - this is at 420mm This is with teleconverter too

lens was sigma 100-300mm f4 - average was probably 1/125th @ F8 I did manage to get some @ 1/50th and tried my new teleconverter which didn't like focusing too much at 420mm :(

I wouldn't say they were harder really, but you can use quicker shutter speeds and still get a good sense of speed.

modem? I'm not sure there would be any significant advantages from changing. £500 seems steep for a D80 and kit lens. However, you could get a mint D200 and lens for around that price.

Good day today, struggle with my new lens and the light was a bit tricky in places. Some nice motors, would like to have seen the skyline going for it, but it was a bit slippy, with a few cars spinning off. Nice to meet The clio boys, you must give me a passenger ride at donny.:approve:

I have a D90 and just got a sigma 100-300mm f4. Will post some photos tomorrow.
