    A dci 80 will remap to around 105-110hp and 180lbft. I used superchips bluefin, plug it in, upload your standard map to it, plug it into pc and their software sends your map to them, they will either have a match for it or write one for you within a few hours, download the map onto the handheld...

    If it's a diesel which hopefully it is as the petrol ones are a bit naff then full throttle in 4th or 5th gear up a motorway sliproad and get it up over 4000rpm to make sure there is no warning lights. Mk3s were having issues with rusty subframes not sure how widespread they are

    Typical tuning box then, wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Better even with a cheap remap, it's such a common and old engine that even cheap generic maps are generally massively tried and tested and work fine.

    Does it load the map though? Tunit has "maps" but it's not loading them, they are not even ECU maps they are using the map term, but in reality it's 1-9 or something on how harsh it is on the fuel pump! They CANNOT control boost.

    Buy the race chip for it to trick the ECU into ramping up fuel pressure, giving worse mpg and gaining about 5hp will giving off loads of black smoke. A proper remap will raise turbo boost and fuel flow to match giving genuine good, reliable gains, mpg improvement, transforming the car.

    Proper remap every time. A tuning box won't be long in mashing your fuel pump on a 1.5dci and it won't make anywhere near +16hp

    I had never noticed it until I had had mine for 6 months, then I tried my mates brand new one and it done the same! no idea what causes it, something to do with the induction system as when mine had an open filter on it it no longer done it

    Renault UK these days are absolutely hopeless and rude, but it's worth a try I suppose it's only as helpful as the person you get. I'm having issues with my 6 months old 220 trophy and Renault UK are worse than the renaulsport dealer I'm dealing with (parks of Motherwell)

    Yeah weight difference and newer emissions regs I believe, the MK4 however is just a tad heavier than a MK2 DCI, it's about the same weight as a 182 so still very light

    Black smoke and warning lights is usually a good sign as it's getting fuel, usually a boost leak or worst case turbo issue! It's when there is no smoke it's an issue lol

    10 minutes with my wire strippers and soldering iron ? I'd go full hog and bin the f7r and put a 220 trophy engine and dual clutch box in it though! Why f**k about!
