not much has changed still just doing a few miles a week in it when its dry, although trying to keep it out the sun to stop it going pink haha!!!
pictured here with my DCi 80 Daily...
yep id replace inner track rods and outer track rod ends.
inner ones are a bit of a pig unless you have a tool to remove them such as one of these....
with one of them its a doddle.
1. jack up and remove wheel.
2. loosen off track rod end securing nut from tie rod
3. remove track...
Im starting to like the retro look of the mk1 V6 more and more now. used to think they were a little bland compaired to the mk2, the mk2 (and mk2 ph2 clios in general) have aged quite well and still look pretty modern! so for me it would be a low millage good condition mk1 as its a safe...
correct person :) na I didn't have one mate, does sound like you have an issue there as they should drive like an n/a as standard where you get loads of benefits from revs.
when mapped its all about the mid range I rarely had my mapped twingos above 4.5k where I was using 5.5-6k when standard
the code is displayed when entering it you sure its all plugged in? should be 4 plugs on the back, definitely the 2 big block conenctors but there should also be 2 small ones (some cars might just have 1 from memory as I believe one might be the cd changer) but one of the small ones is the screen.
I agree the box doesn't stand up very well to ham fisted ejits but then neither do JC5's!
you never see the DCI106 with the same box as a 197/200 needing new boxes as they are generally not thrashed through gears and most of them are doing 100,000+
my 200 done 15k hard hard miles, went thru 2...
gave the wheels a reburb today in "Halfords metallic silver" done the centre diamonds black just for something a bit different.
fitted 172 colourcoded spoiler and bump strips, got door handles to do today.
Id imagine around town they will average 50's, my twingo tce's would do high 40's low 50's if taken easy and this is a new more economical engine they are using but with a heavier car and auto box.
Your best bet would be a backbox chop as you mentioned or a full custom cat back, nothing off...
yep the castings are slightly better on the RS ones but still not as good as one that's been matched.
obviously less gains from matching to be had on an RS stamped one because of this
