there is no hole in his intake pipe he has it blocked with the supplied plug?
I still stand by the fact that they run better on the standard recirc valve though the guy who has my old one has a forge dump valve on it and it doesn't drive as nice and sounds terrible, its like a baby sneezing...
as above less than £100 for an OptiPlex with a core2duo and stick 2gb of ram in it that's what ive been doing recently for people looking for systems works out much cheaper than building with current new budget kit
I posted up about building a F4R kangoo 4x4 a few years back and basically got told to forget it as the drive train is horribly fragile
the diesel doesn't have more torque than the F4R as said above, it was a detuned 1.9 dci with only 130lb/ft, 20 less than a standard 172
my first ph2 172,
ITG Pannel filter, Samco Bend, AWT matched inlets, 182 exhaust manifold, Ktec Decat/link pipe & Ktec stealth
and the 200 standard bar a Pipercross panel filter
yeah totally ive had F1s on most of my clios at some point and always loved it but for some reason it just didn't look right on this!
ive had a few 172's and always spent a bit of cash on them then sold them and never got them where I wanted, but this time I decided ill go for it. clutch needs...
cheers guys, its a real different car from the shed I picked up :)
although it does owe me about £4000 now inc buying it, but it was always a keeper from the beggining
Update: Done 5000 miles in it since I bought it and so far its been pretty reliable, well for a Clio!!!! all its needed in 5000 miles/6 months is rear discs/bearings, 2 driveshafts, warranty replacement on one of the new shafts a month later, front wheel bearings, reverse light switch and a coil...
is it a dci 65 or 80? don't bother with exhausts and induction kits just stick a pipercross panel filter in the airbox and have the car remapped, expect 90bhp from a 65 or 115 from a 80 if that's the case
regardless of pace the 100 drives 10x better, and for that reason it makes a better commuter! that's where my money would be, well that's where my money went in the end up after owning the others lol
on my current one I replaced...
Bottom arms inc ball joints
track rod ends
track rods
steering rack bushes
top mounts
dampers all round
new springs
basically EVERYTHING that can wear, and still I had odd handling, took it all to get setup on my local hunter machine and straight away it showed...
fuel consumption there is next to zero in it few mpg between an 80 and a 100, 65's are in the middle.
I found insurance the same on all models maby my age though
road tax is £20 on all of them (or at least was last time I had one)
100 is more refined due to better gearbox and hydraulic...
