I'm just going to book it and hope for the best, weather won't be too much of an issue for me luckily as I think I will just be doing one lap at a time to get it setup and make sure everything runs as it should! Can't wait, will be good to meet everyone :) I may have to retract my offer of...

Haha thanks Stu, I was on the phone with Matt earlier and he said it was sounding sweet but I'm saving that pleasure until friday :)! Last time I saw the exhaust it threw a huge flame out of it nearly blew the...

Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Haha Silverstone events are even worse mid summer they are nearly £500 quid and then £60 for a garage and £60 per additional driver :S They include lunch aswell as breakfast so practically a bargain :P
The forecast was looking good but then changed yesterday :( I will still be going unless it is awful rain! I only have the R888's with me aswell so I have no choice with tyres, Will still be okay I think :)
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
It should be good although dreading turning into the first corner each time and hoping the cold tyres stick ;) The classes are divided up with cc intervals and you are not allowed to add turbo's etc. There are...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Due to the mods on my car I have to run in modified production so any tyres are allowed I will probably be running a very soft full slick :)
Good to see that you don't mind getting rid of the slam panel etc as in the scheme of things its a fairly cheap way to get a few more horses/ torque. ARP bolts would also be a good idea. I personally would save the money and just run a solid alloy or carbon back plate but I think its just...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Thank you mate :) I can't wait myself but I have got to be realistic for the first year of competing and not to expect too much, its mainly going to be a year of getting the car setup well and me developing...
Haha I think seeing and hearing the ITB's will sell them to you and I think if you were to fit similar long ITB's you'd get very similar output as me because the 438's and 421's are so similar :)
Hi and welcome :)
Yes quite a few of us are going, see thread below!

Thanks for getting back to me mate :) That sounds really good then I will give them a set and see how they come out! Do they offer tyre removal or refit for an extra charge? Thanks again
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
I'm afraid I don't but if Matt doesn't see this before the weekend then I will try and grab some for you when I see the car and then post up :)
Its mainly the track days that are taking up the time I'm...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
No worries yes did think it may be too far, luckily I've been working in Nottingham recently so I haven't been too far away from TDF, I din't add it to the list because I'm not 100% sure I can make it but I...
Haha I had just written a reply to your post from the other day and then you had put the new one which made my post look rather random so deleted that quickly lol!
Sounds like a plan to me Dom and if you want to get a feel for the ITB's your more than welcome to do some straight line testing...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Hi Colin, at the moment we are aiming for this Saturday as the shakedown test for the car at Snetterton and then if this goes well then I am trying to plan a few track days and competition around what I...
Wheel specialist is Garforth is where we send most of our stuff and Brian does a very good job, push for discount as they always are flexible on price. I would aim to pay around £200 with them on 182 wheels. MSS wheel doctor in Morley are supposed to be good aswell and they offer wet and powered...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Haha secretly did it so my missus can't drive it ;) No but seriously its surprising when you sit in it, its mainly the steering wheel that was the issue and we have now sorted that out with a Q/R which pushes...
You certainly don't hang around Lewis :) Work out your buying it yesterday and get a skip to the door the next morning to clear a space for it! Impressive and determined lol! Looking forward to seeing progress with it and will keep my eye out for the new project thread :)
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Yes the cable throttle is supplied with the ITB kit Jonny and its a really nice touch as some of the other ITB kits I've seen use a standard rubber pedal which looks odd against the others!
I'm not 100% sure...
Wow thats a surprise Lewis but I can totally understand where your coming from if its going to save you money in the long term :)! Also his PH1 is a great looking car and i'm sure once complete it will be even better. Is it not feasible to return the cup to standard and sell on? The thing I...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
It certainly is, I bet its great to drive :) That they do, I know it should be mapped early part of the week and then ready for the weekend so it will be good to see what it makes! Although I would still be...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Haha well if its there on Friday/ Saturday depending on which day I'm going then I will have a look but I think this challenge sounds like I will probably fail ;) I originally struggled with mine but have...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
It's been moved forward by about 40-50mm now Tony and I think if you tried it I'm sure you would manage although I appreciate for some drivers it may be quite a compromise. We will have to try it sometime! :)...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Hi Stu, Thank you very much :) Did you try sitting in it? Everyone that I have seen sit in it has managed to reach the pedals the steering wheel was initially the problem for one person but that has been...
