Like my old Duratec. I ran the 2.0 at 9200rpm with a 87.5mm bore and 83.1mm stroke.
My mate ran a 2.5 with 89mm bore and 100mm stroke and it did not like 8300rpm! Although the Honda K24 will do nearly 9k happily with 87mm bore and 99mm stroke.
I remember HR Owen having theirs for years and years.
Started off at £250k
Workshop broke the rear screen and it was up for £180k for years.
Then £400k
Then £700k
Sold for £815k
7 years after been taken in px for £190k.
Not really updated this.....
Had it a year now.
Its done just over 30000 miles.
I had the nav updated with CarPlay etc last week so it feels fresh.
Long term average MPG = 35.1
Best MPG on a run over 100miles is = 41.1
Its only broke once too!
That kit car wasn’t fun though, just scary...
My first kit car was a laugh though with only 150bhp.
I think I’m a RWD boy though, FWD just seems a bit blunted.
Well......
Today wasn’t a total waste of time.
60 laps done. Half a tank used. My two mates got a drive of it too.
Issue with it was the rear exhaust hanger breaking, the movement then causing the cat to manifold joint to open and bugger the gasket ring.
Cable ties and some exhaust paste...
Not touched the shifter as I couldn’t be arsed to take the cat off to get at it.
All it’s had is the joints lubed up. The shift issue is a synchro and not a miss alignment. You can feel the graunch and resistance on any shift above around 4k.
Lucky most tracks are 3rd upwards so it’ll be fine.
Just been through Cubs thread and the box was refurbed the grand total of 6000 miles ago.
Part of the box refurb was the synchro on 3rd!
Renault boxes do not last well!
