So I have had this knocking noise for a while now and have been doing some research into it today.

Ash, I have exactly the same issue as this on my ph2.
Have been under the car and cannot pinpoint the clunk but can feel it through the floor near the pedals.
Doesn't do it every time but I know when its going to do it.
Let me know how you get on as its very annoying!
Cup suspension is meant to be fine. Obviously not the same as coilovers, but still perfectly good for track.
Those pop up tents are cheap as chips from Argos etc.
Oulton will be the test with you I think.
I know how you loved ragging the Clio. Hopefully the meg fits the bill on track for you because lets be honest, cut the bs about having a comfy car bla bla bla, you wanted a new toy.
