It all kind of got out of hand but its been a great way to kill time in this pandemic
Reserve light came on yesterday. Roughly 7 weeks to the gallon. Not put any fuel in since last time i was at work!
Needs lows but need it to be useable for daily
Great turnaround.
Some crazy bodges from the previous owner, i swear its more work to bodge it than fix it properly. My old Kangoo 172 was the same when i bought it, wires twisted together, seatbelt bracket held in by an m6 bolt etc. I practically rebuilt the van as i had to go through all of...
I found the 180 NS2R terrible on the megane. Could not get enough heat into them on road use/cold weather use, car felt so skitty. They go off fast on track when hot, and i managed to split a sidewall on one of them. Cheap tyres and poor performance to suit, i had more sideways moments with...
To add to insult, i nearly took my finger end off removing a regulator from a breaker. Absolutely hated the car after that episode and didnt touch it for about 6 months, but slowly grown to like it again
I double clicked the button on the blue meg to deadlock on the first time the car had been out the garage overnight in 6 months. Drivers window went down for no reason and stuck there as temec module failed. It then started raining and ended up stripping the doorcard off in the dark to get the...
Looks great, always liked the ph1 in sunflower yellow.
Teesport is about 5 miles away from me, a few of my mates around that time used to move the cars. Flat out straight off the boat, well run in before they hit the showroom. The gaffer used to get the good cars to drive i think he said the...
Pulled the cars out for a clean yesterday.
225 done first, BH auto foam, 2 bucket wash, dried and a coat of Sonax bsd. Cant wait to use this once lockdown is over.
Next up the gtt, got the same treatment as the meg.
Dug out a tape pack to stick on whilst cleaning
The eyes on the box:LOL: if you...
Cheers all, its a riot when running right. Just feels good to get back in the seat and be able to drive it after all these years, such a buzz.
Fitted the Stack gps module yesterday, i could have rammed it behind the dash but stashed it in the cubby hole for easy access to the calibrate button...
Quick stop to check fluids
Forgot how good it sounds. Ive had to add some ign timing to the 0KPA cells on the map as they were set at 0deg between 2-5krpm which give asbo style bangs on overrun. Dialled in some regular numbers and it still pops and bangs on overrun but it sounds great...
Fairly large update
Cleaned up the Extra last week. Started by jacking the front up and cleaning out the arches. I had wondered why the lower wings had rotted quite a bit over the years considering its been garaged forever. Removed arch liners to reveal solid mud up the pillar, that would...
Ditch the stock dash and tie a digi dash into your ecu if the omex supports it. My ecu can run the fan based on the values from coolant temp sensor if needs be.
So the cameras are all proposals at the moment, ill believe it when i see it.
Decat is hardly an issue or life threatening mot fail to be honest, bang a sports cat on in the normal location, or stock cat once a year, minor map adjustments around idle to suit. Im all for the dangerous cars...
Shitty aftermarket cat will usually scrape a pass if you flog the nads out of it on the way to the mot station, bolt it on the tailpipe if needs be
Finished off the orange dci today.
Started off with bolting wings back on and refitting arch liners. Whilst up in the air i took the opportunity to renew the brake fluid. Ive never bled the front calipers and only done the rears due to replacement brake lines on the rear beam a few years ago...
Cheers mate. Ive been keeping my eye out for all the van trims and small internal bulkhead, if you see any link me up (y)
182 lump will be great in yours, 40mpg on a run and decent power. If i was doing less miles i would have used a cheap 172 for my conversion.
