Aircon gassed up and working great. Noticed die leaking around the top fitting on the condensor yesterday so it wont last long. I guess the original seal gamble did not work. Waste of £60 :cautious:
Found the oem seals now so when it runs out of gas will try again
Updates
Got a flier from work this afternoon, just had to endure a 2 hour teams meeting with 50 of us in it:sleep:
Anyway straight out to fit the new rad and condensor pack. Whipped grill and slam panel off and it was out in ten mins.
Black mark shows the leaks on the old condensor.
Bolts...
Small update
Still waiting for the aircon rad to turn up, at this rate by the time its fixed, i wont need to use it:cautious:
Anyway i fitted a cup holder today. Not the most elegant but should hopefully do the job
Greggs cup test as thats how we roll;)
Ive bit the bullet and ordered the rad pack, genuine ren aircon seal kit and a gallon of type d. It best turn up fast before the hot weather goes
Cheers all, its turned out far better than expected, such a buzz being able to drive it hard again.
As for reliability, its hard to say how long the stock pistons and rods will last at this power. I better get some forged items in stock:)
So the day came and it was time to get the Extra mapped.
Filled the tank with tesco's finest 99 momentum and set off on the journey to Efiparts. Had a steady drive on the way down as the base map was ok but not great, sat at around 50-60mph. The weather was exceptionally hot around 25 degrees...
Later WSR poss 2010? I couldnt make the Saturday so let my mate take my gtt. He took all the glory and got pissed on the gala evening and i ended up driving down on the Sunday in my daily driver:LOL: He did get my drivers side sunvisor signed by Jean Ragnotti though so can let him off.
I recall...
I think this pic was 2006 WSR. Im sure i only missed the first and last one. Can remember seeing the megane r26 when new, and thinking it was awful. Also can remember the ph1 172 cup racers, and the megane trophy racers. They were so loud when on full chat.
Went to that in my old white R5gtt. Free parade laps, Renault hospitality all day and the gala do on the night with free drink. Great era, must have cost Ren a fortune.
Its a shame the last couple went down the pan with the freeloaders, cars on display damaged etc, and i think they knocked the...
Been trying to get the aircon fired up again as back at work and doing mega mileage as usual.
Had the local aircon specialist gas it up with leak dye a couple of weeks ago, and aircon worked briefly as they added a little bit of refrigerant. Took it back for uv light and they said its the...
It will be related to the engine bay fusebox if the electrical fault light is on the dash. Check the small relay pins for corrosion, and check the fuse for the ecu. My fusebox melted on the ecu fuse due to poor connection causing a non start.
Done a couple of small jobs.
Removed fuel pressure gauge from the reg, and blanked the hole now the fuel pressure is set, as they are not supposed to be permanent. The original gauge that was fitted started leaking, not taking any risks. Cant see it from the drivers seat either so pretty...
It sounds like the battery has died. Had similar issue on the mrs blue meg, sat on trickle all winter, started twice when we got it out the garage and flat.
I would keep the door sensors& boot lock if you are keeping the central locking. If they are not working/wired up, its easy to lock the keys in if your not careful.
Small update
Had the rear window tinted dark smoke to keep eyes off my gear when i eventually go back to work. Looks dark in the pic bit looks oem ish tint when up close and can see out of the back ok.
Finally had to put some diesel in too after god knows how many weeks
The injectors are fragile if original. I knocked one of mine when changing the oil filter and the plastic connector part simply fell off as brittle and old.
Probably thrashed from new and the rings bedded in really well;)
I would bosh a new set of injectors in at 130k. I replaced all of mine after one failed and it ran great after, miles better than with the old injectors.
Compression is within 10% by the sounds of it so not an issue, its decent overall and generally you would need a big drop in compression on a cylinder to get it to misfire.
If the timing is correct, id say its injector fault or ign related, resistance check the injectors.
Next step for me...
Another vote for fresh cup shocks, and eibach sportlines if only fast road use. Accept a little bit of bodyroll and it all works lovely, and will generally outlast any coilover setup with very little maintenance.
Could sell the coilovers and get a good return.
Checked the boost circuit for leaks this morning. Dug out my home made caps for the circuit and used a small compressor for an airbrush.
I would normally bung the airfilter and fill from the airfilter hose with a good compressor. However this compressor does not have much power so initially...
Trader saying service history lost = no history.
Fsh and previous lease car = no servicing.
Always buy on condition, and unless the seller is very trustworthy, consider belts as needing changing.
Cheers mate, Its been my passion fixing these Renaults for years and the lockdown has given me tons of time to get the bits done.
The various internet forums i have been members of over the years have given me so much knowledge to fix various bits, would have struggled without the good advice...
