    Removing the ABS system?

sorry not sure on the issue of how to remove it, but yes 182s run the speedo from ABS as do ph2 172s, 172 cups and ph1 172s use a speedo drive in the gearbox, 182 cups run from abs as per a normal 182

remote locking not working - can anybody hep?

chisel?! all you need to do is put a screwdriver or key or something through the "loop" bit that a keyring goes and lever it so it pushes both halfs of the key a different way and it slides open

Increasingly finding myself growing bored of the Clio..

i was bored of my ph2 172, didnt want to sell it as of how good it was, had a really strong engine as proved on the RR at a few of the CS rolling road days, eventually bit the bullet, eventually regretted it and bought a cheap ph1 172 which i actually prefer!

CS doctors needed. Possible head gasket failure?

id put £100 on the head gasket being fine. these engines always have mayo like that under the oil filler cap unless they are driven long runs regularly, its not an issue dont worry about it, clean it off and give it a good motorway run and i bet it doesnt come back until its doing short journeys...

Slight crunch shifting to 3rd at high revs

agreed, i genuinely dont dislike the box at all in any way, mine have both felt nice to use, slide in and out of gears no problem and so far ive yet to come across any of these "reliability issues" i guarantee all the issues are caused by wheelspinning and allowing the wheels to tramp under hard...

Just how bad are 182 gearboxes?

they arnt bad gearboxes, they dont have issues like some of the other renault boxes JB1 and JB3 dont seem to like going into 2nd gear untill under 30mph, no matter if your blipping or heel and toe'ing or not. the problem is average joe thinks that to drive fast you MUST change gear like the...

    Stealth exhaust choice.....

because its not a restriction especially once the cats removed, the tiny bit of power to be gained from the stainless is probably canceled out with the weight! so i still stick by my original comment, if its a daily driver i prefer the standard system. if its a toy then the aftermarket system
