looking for a set of hid's for the 172 as the standard headlights are pants, dont want anything blue or chavvy just similar to ph2 xenons, anyone got any pics of what they look like and what sort of difference they make at night?
right my dci has an annoying problem with the winscreen washers blocking up, sometimes they dont give off any water, other times they dribble, sometimes they shoot all the water out 1 of the 4 noozles, currently only the 2 that point towards the passengers side are working.
now a small needle...
yeah £200 odd quid a year, i think its only a worth while thing if 1. you already have the dci with the mods you want to save buying your own sport 2. you dont want to insure it legit, and insure it as a dci for much cheapness and 3. you can do it all yourself!
the op was asking about the other way around though putting a sport engine into a diesel, not worth putting a diesel lot into a sport if you wanted a rep, much less hastle to just fit the bumpers etc
lol i remember in my old ph2 172 pulling out to overtake 9 cars and a bus on a straight and as i pulled out a rover 25 behind the bus pulled out i then had to break as the 25 was only half way past the bus when i reached it, hero car!
the most annoying one for me is when your on the wrong side of the road overtaking a line of traffic as your sitting about 8 cars back and no one overtakes and then just as your about to pass the 2nd car from the front they pull out!
the trick is your using less revs to get the same performance which is going to give you better mpg which is why mine shot up about 5mpg on average daily driving, if you give it limiter every gear then yes your going to use more fuel as your turbos giving you more air!
im not getting into any more arguments but a few facts for people who have no experiance with diesel tuning (not that theirs anything wrong with that, each to their own) but people always jump to the following conclusions due to knowing their brothers mates cousin with the screw mod on his...
lol maby if youve had 4 kids! if youve driven any of the other non RS clios and know the issue with engine/gearstick movement then try a 100, but really you need a good long test drive with the box to really appreciate it
its back to the same thing though straight line no you wont but on your average uk road yes you will, i beleive a certain scottish member commenting on how hard he was working his 197 to keep up with me on the st andrews meet!
spec wise a 100 and 80 are much the same, if your asking about the technical side then yes their are a few differences mechanically but as far as driving comes into it the 100 you get the better gearbox, their is people who say its crap, it just takes getting used to, if youve driven a mk3 clio...
the problem with a 100 is if you find one you need to take what ever colour and spec you can get although same can be said for the 80 but not as extreme i was just lucky i got black with climate, electric sunroof and cd changer which is what i wanted
if you can find a 100 then they are deffo worth the extra premium, 80 is a nice compromise though, 100 is a lot better to drive though due to the 4th engine mount and hydraulic clutch
