I've got this helmet which is BS6658 Type A (blue sticker). If they make the red label the minimum it'll be interesting to see if they insist on fire retardent overalls as well. Don't see the point in a fire proof helmet if you don't have clothes giving the same protection.

Running costs aren't too bad on a 172. I wouldn't be surprised if the cost of the parts and insuring mods meant its not much cheaper.
