Bumping this instead of starting a new thread. Got some DS2500 pads with part number FCP406H from a mate who works motor factors. He was told FCP406H were the direct replacement for 172, and FCP565H is for the Cup Racer which require grinding to fit. If I try to fit these along with new discs...

I've got 195 45 16 tyres on my 172 alloys at the moment. Would I be able to use 205 55 16 tyres without any problems? I guess the speedo would be out but would they fit ok. Only reason I ask is its the only size I can find the tyre I want in. Thanks

All depends on price if they're 60 - 70 quid i'd prefer to get Goodyear or Continental.
