will a 182 fit in 172?

iv justs earched the forum trying to find this but cant find anything, iv just got a ph2 172 with a t*ssed engine and seems to be easier to replace than repair. will a 182 engine go straight in or does it have to be a 172? any help would be much appreciated, thanks

Different manifold and exhaust system IIRC.

goes in fairly straightforward. I take it you're in bedford, was it a snapped cambelt?? I think I was given your number and couldn't get through

Same apart from the exhaust manifold but you can just use the one from your 172.

no im from near preston north west. the bottom end was knocking and the previous owner kept driving it and now its done the shells and a piston. will the 182 ening erun off my 172 ecu?

the engine itself is almost the same. a couple of different pipes to connect. I made a full list of what's needed in a post last week
