dynamique spec one would keep up no problem in bends, not much in it straight line 8v 1.6 getting all its torque lower down unlike the 1.2 that needs hammered, so would need to be giving the 1.2 5700rpm changes
also a VTS would rape one silly!!! my dci just keeps up with VTR's in a straight...
id say its actually a pretty easy conversion due to running the same box, ecu and similar lumps.
however i will add this, if you have had never ending toubles with your gearbox and engine and suspension id be looking at your or maby the previous owners driving style.
im assuming the clio gt dci is the same engine in my dci100 but with a 6 speed box, personally as a mile muncher you wont find a better engine. BUT is it going to be as fun as a high reving 130bhp 1600 16v with VVT, is it f**k
at 70mph in the dci100 i average 65mpg, so id think an 80 could get 60 at 80 doesnt sound too far off.
the full way back from FCS to scotland i averaged 52mpg and didnt get much under 100 the full way back!
dci clios are loud at idle from outside, so are all diesels. in car you would NEVER know your in a diesel to be honest, its quiet, i get a very faint whistle from the turbo when it comes on boost, with the window down it doesnt sound loud either again just a little whine from the turbo when its...
dci 100 is a good motorway croozer blasts to 120 indicated pretty quickly then starts to tail off (i had 119mph indicated the other day after a long long straight)
i had a 65 and it was much more responsive around town due to smaller turbo and no intercooler, i then fitted an 80 intercooler to...
the reason these cars sell for such crap money is because people on this place for some strange reason decide to hammer the prices down.
the price i paid for my dci which nearly everyone agreed was a "bargain" for a dci 100 with 71k on the clock could have got me a 172 with 30k miles, less...
hes on here, hes the guy im sure that bought my old red dci 65, he has the clio van on bags too which is pretty sweet.
he was building this a while back it was the gold one that was going about on bags that had the motorbike cans on the back bumper remember that one? this is it now
yeah after 53plate the dci 100 was brought out and the 1.6 16v was also given rear disks. same size as the 172 ones
Brett, im going to try my hardest to keep it standard as i like it as is. the dci 65 was just a bucket so a front mount and 60mm springs were a bit of fun lol
ill be going back to eagle F1s when im due tyres, i needed tyres ASAP for a last minute road trip and got 2 ContiSport Contacts on the front (standard fitment 172 tyres i beleive) and they nearly f**king killed me today!
ideal for me would be 195/45/15 or 195/50/15 but im not buying a set of 15" wheels at the moment so standard 16's will need to do, ive always used 195/45/16 on them but i know you can use 205/45/16 and they come quite highly recomended just cost more!
no need for spring compressors to fit coilovers as your not taking the shocks apart your keeping them built up and fitting full new ones (ie your coilovers!)
people always talk of the strut turning when they try and loosen the top mount, keep the car on the ground while you crack them off and...
if you like your car to handle like a spazzy on an ice rink and look nice and low then go for them.
if you like to drive your car quick and enjoy the handling then stick to standard or go for sportlines/prolines/h&R or coilovers
lol u dont have a flexi! and as danny said above you just need a new gasket and sealing kit, bloddy expensive for what it is from renault, k-tec do them cheaper though. 5 minute job to change on a 182 with a 10mm socket and 10mm spanner not so easy on a 172!
its obviously going to pull on one as its the same car, lighter with more power but its ok saying ive got 18bhp more or what ever but 18bhp isnt much on the road, its not like its night and day. ive got a big torque gain which makes a genuine big difference but if you fit a decat and filter and...
if your car has lost a genuine 25bhp a service is not going to just like magic make it re appear, infact its probably going to make about 1bhp difference if your lucky from the change of the air filter.
few checks. does the car idle ok, does it pull clean to the limiter, it wont be great over...
