^ this guy has deffo solved the problem..... lol wtf
butler 205, that happened on my 172 when the rear disks and pads and front disks and pads were badly worn because the level of fluid had dropped in the resovouir. i thought this was the same problem but its got brand new front brakes on it!
both the stop light and handbrake light are flickering on and off when going over bumps etc, thought it was possibly due to the brake fluid being low in the resevoir due to needing pads and disks but changed them today and its still doing it so im assiming its some sort of loose conection etc...
performance wise im assuming they are all roughly the same but im looking for the best ie, what filters better! and what size filter im looking for?
its for my 172, relocated battery so doing a cup racer setup behind the headlight and got some mental heat padding stuff to make an enclosure for it!
they map well was sure a gain of around 7bhp and similar torque gain was to be had, think thats on a standard one too, more to be had with different exhaust, cat and filter
small engine petrols imo are a bit crap to drive, our 1.2 isnt that smooth when changing gear or pulling away, where my dci with 3x more miles on the clock feels so much more refined!
id go for at least 1.6 16v if not dci, my dci doesnt feel that much slower around town than my 172 does due to...
weve got a mk3 1.2 16v expression, its well built, handles brilliant, slow, crap to drive being a 1.2
BUT....
its reliable, has a 3yr warranty, spacious, well built, good on petrol etc etc. its a good boring car
was a trophy behind me on my way home from edinburgh lastnight, i came onto the motorway from the roundabout near edinburgh airport and it was behind me when i came on from the sliproad, i was croozing at a ton and it was getting closer so wasnt hanging about! lol i was in red DCi clio covering...
black one i dont own anymore, red dci is my daily bus cost me penuts, silver 172 is a complete minter that cost me over 7k just over a year ago but im still paying for that lol!!
coilpack would be the first thing id try, around £60 new from memory.
check the wiring on the back of the engine (its where the ECU is located) it can rub and brake the wires killing the loom.
as said take an adult
i strolled into a toyota dealership with my dad to look at a 172 when i had just turned 18, looked at it for 5 mins talking to the salesman, he gave me the keys and put trade plates on it let me take it out MYSELF! 30 min test drive later i was signing the dotted line...
i bought this to run about in while i finished my 172 "project" now im spending more on this than the 172!! lol
got greenstuff pads, standard disks and new fluid for it now lol
na mate was a few years back, i posted a thread at the time but it was on the old forum not sure if you can still get them?
custom made HKS filter was awesome lol
Re: got a f**k off front mount for the dci whats next?!!
that suits me perfectly for motorway driving :)
gearbox isnt an issue for me, my 172 box is taking 200bhp/150lbft and thats hard driving, dci hardly gets abused just want the power when i need it!
non sport box which afaik externally is identical to an RS box BUT this was on a non sport with only 3 engine mounts, not 4 like the RS has, so granted this much damage may not be caused BUT i wouldnt be taking the chance again.
standard lower mount isnt that bad anyway, most of the excessive...
